Need more female NPCs!

Why aren't there any dark witches in fortresses? There should be female trolls guarding foundables, female vampires, etc. Hogwarts doesn't gender-discriminate, neither should the confoundable spell.

Why ruin something with gender politics. I don't think a person will improve their outlook on life with a female deatheater or werewolf. There are plenty of female characters in this game. Lots of high level female professors, Ministry of Magic administrators, and students. There is no glass ceiling. How do you know that Formidible Pixie isn't a she? Or the werewolf? Or the Acromantula? Maybe you are just projecting bias. Maybe the game designers left a bunch of characters as gender indeterminant to let everyone determine their own. Who knows, maybe the wizard you battle in the Fortress is really a transgender wizard. Since this game does not touch that part of life, what does it matter?

Incredibly good points made all around. Why aren't there female human foes? Witches have a very rich history and deserve a significant presence on both sides of the spectrum. Lack of balance here. I would love to duel dark witches.

    Sing it Sista!!!

There are NO female Confoundables! Meaning that women are only ever rescued, not active defenders.

Niantic have already "Fridged" Penelope to spur Grim into action in their story - I'm really hoping that there is something more complicated going on there.

Also, what's with calling them "Wizarding Challenges" rather than "Fortress Challenges". 😤

Counterquestion: what makes you think that the masked death-eather found in Fortresses isn't female?

@bonzork I totally agree. I've been thinking about that too. Thank you for pointing that out.

I think the only females are the dragons, since we did take their eggs and such. But duuuuuuuuuuude, yes, please give us Bellatrix to fight. I totally aprove this message.

Also it's cool that maybe pixies and werewolves and all the non-humans might be female as well, but nah, it still leaves a gap that there should be some bad witches out there. Doesn't have to be outright feminine, but would be really nice.

There are female confoundables as well. The one with Newt and Graves comes to mind. While I wouldn’t mind the addition, I’m not hung up on this. Maybe just me.

I think that’s a happy middle-ground, @Dogoutlaw. It’s kind of where I’m at. I don’t think there’s an active effort to subjugate women in the game, but I don’t see a reason to be against stronger female representation either. I’m down to fight a super-bad dark witch.

    @Bormacska -

from The Sylph, who is a WU-tuber based in phillipines

he said in his youtube vid post that he got it in an email from WB

he is quirky but generally much more tolerable (and accurate) than most of the WU-tubers out there

i won’t mention the paid shills by name (some might be active here)

Hm... Gender-Equality and accepting all Wizards (and other magic users) regardless of gender would be fair. What makes you think that Villains and Criminals care about fairness that much?

Of the "famous" Death-Eaters that were named in the Book, Bellatrix Lestrange is the only female. There were a few other females among Voldemort's followers but the overwhelming majority of Death Eaters were male. Narcissa (Draco's mother) was not a Death Eater unlike her husband Lucius.

Did you just assume Death Eater's gender?

And just as a sidenote... WIZARD is a gender-neutral word, derived from WIZARDRY. Whereas WITCH - also a gender-neutral word - is derived from WITCHCRAFT.

    WIZARDRY

Wizards are naturally adept SCHOLARS of magic, dedicated to STUDY. They gain their supernatural abilities from INTELLIGENCE. They require years of learning and practice but are "relatively" down-to-earth in their magic.

    WITCHCRAFT

Witches are naturally adept PRACTITIONERS of magic, focussed on USING magic rather than studying and understanding it. They gain their supernatural abilities from WISDOM and have a strong bond to the spiritual world of ghosts.

And for the record: THERE ARE FEMALE WIZARDS AND THERE ARE MALE WITCHES.
