It would be so awesome to send private messages to other players/your friends. Maybe a letter which can be send to them like the gifts. Just to have a little bit more interaction with other wizards :)

I am a chat mod, and a forum mod, in another game.

Whispers, DM, etc. waste a lot of development cycles on dealing with harassment/ abuse/ stalking that could be spent on game play development.

I strongly recommend players ( and developers ) use third party apps like Discord / Line / Kik. These are chat apps so their roadmap already included development cycles for white lists, black lists, reporting, blocking, private groups, public groups, etc.

I would like if I could add stickers to gifts in Wizards Unite just like in Pokémon GO. This limits interaction to positive experiences only. In fact they recently removed Bye from the Bulbasaur sticker to make it more friendly.

one of the reasons pogo didnt get an ingame chat was b/c ingress had/s it and it lead to players being stalked in real life, i mean actual "i know where you live <address>, if you dont stop trying to remove my/our portals we will <threat>" and so much more nastyness that lead ppl who had been playing the game for years to uninstall it. Idk if niantic has officially said so but it is a very likely reason why pogo never has so far gotten an ingame chat. I highly doubt WU will or catan.

what 'could' be nice to have instead would be a visual chat, predetermined by devs like you press icons which 'tell' others what you need/want, like if you want an erkling confused you drop the icon on one (if youre not an auror) and the auror sees it (in or out of battle) and knows what you want done. if you want to be healed you click on heal/revive button and magi(s) know what to do.

all icons, no actual typing/chating which should get the job done and save any nastyness.

Bumping this, because I think it's an excellent suggestion. Pre-defined phrases in icon form. Should keep Niantic and the players 'safe' and we can finally signal each other.

Ingress has stalking because of the Intel map you can actually see where players are at and moving around and make it very easy to find home portals and people's habits if you want to. It would be like having a marauders map.

We don't need an actual chat to discuss things, but maybe a few buttons for group battles to "ask for focus" "healing" "shield" "hex" or to announce that the auror is going in for a first strike.

and with the ingress map you can find any gift sent from any poi in the world, receive enough from any one person (other than the hogw rune gifts) and you can fashion a poi-map-track of everywhere a person has been/goes, do that for enough days and you can understand if it is a loop/path followed at specific times (jogging etc) or throughout a commute to/from work, if you d

Just the ability to ‘nudge’, give a thumbs up, or Ask for ‘help!’ Would make a big difference.
