Unnerf brilliant traces

Brilliant traces have been nerfed too much IMO.

  1. Brilliant traces are harder to return than normal traces with the same amount of WXP per trace. This was the case for months, but it's much more pronounced now with SOS Training, as brilliant traces get only the basic Spell Mastery and Departure Denial boosts. Family-specific boosts don't apply to brilliant traces.
  2. The 1,000 WXP for replacing a brilliant image is a bug according to HPWUROBERT. I assume it will be fixed soon.
  3. Brilliant treasure trunks don't give SOS Training goodies - no charm charges, no ministry manuals, no WXP.

The only metric by which brilliant traces are still better is the number of scrolls per trace, but most players accumulated thousands of scrolls by now and have no use for them. And until the 1,000 WXP bug is fixed brilliant traces may have a WXP advantage for players who did not invest much in Treasure Trunk XP Upgrades.

Please give us a reason to return brilliant traces after we completed event tasks.

For example compare the color of the treat level bar for Brilliant Unicorn and Thestral.

@cosk62 Just referring to a couple details in your first post. I think you misunderstood HPWURobert's post. There isn't a bug that removed the 1000XP from placing Brilliant traces. Receiving 1000XP for placing Brilliant traces was the bug, and not getting that XP now is the fix.

With regards to Brilliant trunks, they are not intended to give SOS rewards, just as the Challenge trunks aren't a part of it. Being able to gain bonus XP and Trace charm refreshes from Brilliant trunks would be completely out of control, given how easy it is to generate them.

@Attrition, sorry if my post wasn't clear.

HPWURobert does say that 1,000 WXP for re-placing a brilliant image is a bug. This bug made returning brilliant traces worth while for players under L60. Once this bug is fixed, there would be no point in returning brilliants after completing all tasks, other than completionizm - for those who want to get brilliant event pages to rank 65*.

Hi @cosk62 I know the event is long over but wanted to respond to this.

When the first brilliant events took place last year, the brilliant foundables were the same threat level as their non brilliant counterparts. That meant that as brand new players, just a month or so into the game, we were faced with severe unicorns and sorting hats!

Thankfully, the development team took on board the community feedback and subsequent brilliant foundables were made much more accessible.

However, as this was a throwback event, the brilliant unicorn was at its original threat level. Welcome to the insanity we all faced at game launch!

@Magpie31 indeed, but I was not talking only about Flora&Fauna 2 event. This issue affects all brilliant events. SOS training improved non-brilliant traces much more than the brilliant ones:

    1. Non-brilliant foundables are now easier to return than brilliant ones of the same threat level (because family spell mastery lessons don't apply to brilliants).
    2. 1,000 bonus WXP for placing a brilliant image is now comparable to the WXP you get from a regular exploration treasure trunk. I get more from the exploration trunks, but it all depends on how many of the trunk WXP lessons you have. (And HPWURobert said 1,000 WXP for re-placing an image was a bug anyways).
    3. Brilliant traces give zero Ministry Manuals and have zero chance of the Trace Charm charge drop.
