“Connection lost” message on every app launch
Every time I open the app, after the load screen and “stay safe” warning message, I get the “connection lost. Check Wi-fi or mobile data” message to dismiss. Wi-fi and mobile data are fine.
iPhone 11, iOS 13.5.1, app version 2.14
this has been an issue for a long time, on iPhone 6s and previous app versions.

Same here. Updated app, uninstalled and reinstalled, still experiencing the same message. iOS 13.6.

This is still an issue! Have they investigated this at all?

I’ve been having the same issue for at least 2 months now. So annoying and absolutely no answers!
Same issue very long. Android (two different versions/devices). Today I can't start the game at all, but an infinite loop having the same "An error occurred with the wireless network" all the time

Idem après suppression de l'application et sa réinstallation.
Essai sur un autre téléphone, pareil. Mais à la maison le compte de ma compagne fonctionne. Cela semble suivre mon compte de joueur.

Already since 2.14 I experience that at startup, after being logged in and clicking away the safety warning/disclaimer, I *always*get the error message that I am disconnected and should check my WiFi or mobile data.
While I am already connected to WiFi (or else have a strong 4G+ connection).
Some versions back this never occurred.
Current version in use: 2.15.1
OS: Android 9
Device: Moto g6 plus
I have tried to check the known issues, but haven't been able to find them easily, even though I have seen them somewhere before...

I have the issue with Huawei P30 Pro..... Every time!

I've lost the app as of around 6:30pm (UK time) on 19/10. This error keeps coming every time I try to access the app. I've restarted the phone but no avail. Can I just play please?
Every. Single. Time. I long into HPWU, I have to clear the message saying “Connection lost. Check your WiFi or mobile data. Every. Single. Time. The app is opened. This message has haunted my account for many months.
when the message is closed, it’s play as usual, but you can imagine closing the unnecessary message more than 10 times per day for nearly a year, it’s becoming a task that I care not to do anymore. Please help.

I am still getting the connection error every start and now I am out playing and got the error at a greenhouse. I have full LTE bars. I am in range.
It's Dec. 3rd, 2020 I too, am still getting lost connection error at start up after the newest update. Is there a fix for this?
For months this little alert has popped up. I tap ok and I’m able to play but having it pop up every time is frustrating. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, logged out and back in, restarted my phone: it remains.
I still have this issue. Extremely frustrating and still no response from Niantic. It's been months.
Alas, 2.16.0 and no improvement on this fault in basic operation.
I have this too... I've been hesitant to ask to get it fixed though because I'm afraid the fix may break it worse, and it doesn't actually seem to affect gameplay at all other than having to clear the message.
Unfortunately it has been an issue for months (want to say since May or June?). Not sure what caused it or what update caused it. Updating my iPhone 11 to v14.2, updating the game and uninstalling and reinstalling the game doesn’t really solve the problem. Fortunately, it doesn’t affect the game play.
I don’t see it on the known issue list but I am hoping it is still being investigated?

Just wondering if anyone had heard of a fix for this. I can no longer even access the game, as I get the connection lost msg when trying to load. It started for me with the latest Brilliant Event, where I would get the connection lost msg whenever I tried to engage an event foundable to port key. I have tried all the various fixes including uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Anyone heard of any fixes? (Btw, this is my first post, so if this isn't the right place I appologize)
For some months now on all of my devices, when I open the app after the safety confirmation I get the connection lost error twice and then it stops. It’s not an internet access issue as it happens everywhere. Please advise how to correct this.
My girlfriend sees a "Connection lost. Check your wifi or mobile data." message every time she opens the game. I'm trying to help her, and I've seen no solution to this problem elsewhere, so I'm trying here.

Still getting the connection lost error message when loading game.
For months I’ve seen this message every time I launch the app, both on my Android and iOS devices. It doesn’t at all affect gameplay other than having to click OK an extra time, but it’s really annoying to constantly see a completely irrelevant message each startup.
