How to avoid all team battles?

Is there a setting to prevent even the possibility of being added to a team in a fortress? I'm no longer interested in ever teaming up as I get shafted 9 times out of 10 and it's ruining the game for me. Every time I enter any chamber, I end up racing to leave, even if I don't click join as there are seconds only left on the clock and where the chamber I selected had appeared to be empty, there are suddenly others there who all leave, leaving me to battle with way more NPCs than I can manage alone. This happens at every level and almost every time and I'm tired of running out of all my potions and energy without gaining anything for it. I've even spent money to buy more potions and energy, which I will no longer do, but the issue of players quitting at the last second is no longer tolerable. The last time, while in dark chamber one last night, I got excited, thinking that you had fixed the issue of fortress chambers incorrectly judging how many NPCs to spawn but they were all elites! And spiders, where I am an Aurour. So I lost of course although just barely, one more healing potion would have changed the tide. So I wish to just fortress battle solo from now on and would like very much to be able to avoid having to worry about getting added to a team by mistake. Please tell me how I can manage to do this? As soon as you join an empty fortress, hit the ‘start’ button. Then you can play that fortress solo.
@AllycatCoven As WitchHicker said, you can just join an empty chamber and immediately click the Start button. However, keep in mind that you will find yourself capped on what chamber you can play. While it is possible to solo Dark V, it is quite difficult and expensive in terms of potions. The higher level Forests and all of the Darks are realistically intended for team play.

As you said, it is possible to solo all chambers as your rank increases.
Prior to the Knight Bus, my only option was to solo. So stocking up on potions, I was able to solo Dark V on my second try.
@AllycatCoven So don’t give up and “solo on”
