Size of pulsing circle around avatar needs adjustment
In both Ingress and Pokemon Go, the pulsing circle around your avatar shows your interaction range, that is, if a POI is inside the circle, you can interact with it.
In HPWU, it's unclear what the circle means. The circle is smaller than in PoGo, but the interaction range is actually farther than in PoGo. So you could be approaching an Inn and know that it's at approximately the distance you should be able to enter it, but you tap it and keep getting "walk closer" instead of just knowing when you're in range or not.
Please adjust the pulsing circle animation so that it actually provides useful information to players.

Hmm... My experience is that the outer limit of the circle is the farthest a place (tower/inn/greenhouse in HPWU, pokestop/gym in PoGO, and portal in Ingress) can be interacted with. Temporary items (traces/ingredients in HPWU, wild pokemon in PoGO, and dropped objects in Ingress) are visible and interactable at *slightly* farther distances from the avatar. The HPWU ring radius seems to be about the same size as the Ingress ring radius to me while the PoGO ring radius seems to be smaller than the other two games.
I'm consistently able to interact with POI just outside of the circle in HPWU, while in Ingress and PoGo it's very clear that the limit is exactly where the biggest range of the circle is. I just fired up Ingress and the circle there is the same size for me as the PoGo circle.
At the same time, I can interact with POI in HPWU that I can't reach in PoGo from the same spot.
I made some comparison screenshots with the circle sizes, but I can't post links here yet.
I've noticed when approaching an Inn, the Inn itself with grow in size to show I am within range of engagement. I can't remember if Greenhouses behave the same way. Something to observe on my next walk.
Inns do that, but if you miss the cue, there's no other way to tell for sure unless you're so close to it that it's inside the (tiny) circle.
Here's an image comparing the circle sizes in all 3 Niantic games. the HPWU circle is by far the smallest, and I still haven't figured out what the radius is supposed to represent, if we're supposed to rely on the PoI "growing" animation cue to know that it's in range.
I'll try to catch screenshots of interaction range but my GPS tends to drift a bit when I switch between apps on my device.
