I haven’t seen any werewolves (except in fortress’) since the start of the game...has anyone returned any? After some research it seems as if they might only come out during a full moon. Can anyone confirm or give me some information about finding werewolf’s to return?

Gamepress states "Werewolves produced by the Chaotic Magic appear despite the absence of a full moon", though I have yet to encounter a single one in the wild, yet.
I have yet to see one in the wild either. Possible we are not in the right geographic areas.
According to a fairly authoritative post on Reddit, werewolves will absolutely only come out at night during a full moon.
So,
Werewolves: full moon, night.
Leprechauns, dusk.
Doxies, dawn.
I think the other passage refers to werewolves as confoundables or in fortresses, not as oddities.
I believe it is also +- a couple of days (time will tell), so watch out for ware wolfs the upcoming week :) Full moon is on July 16.
That makes sense. My wife is always up super early catching Doxies and I never see them because I'm super lazy and get up after her lol.

I have been out 4 hours this night and did not see a single Werewolf. Super disappointed. Any suggestions as we're to look for them. Forest, parks, cemetery, wetlands, populated areas, use dark Detectors on an Inn. Does anyone have any experiences?
@MorSanMolberg I believe most of us are waiting for a full moon, which is not until tomorrow in my neck of the woods.
I'm thinking they'll start showing up tonight...they show up a day or 2 before the full moon
they were out jul 15 in Scotland uk , only trouble was 'night' didn’t start until 22:50 pm and my phone was nearly out of battery!
Werewolves only come out in full moons at night ao they are calendar dependent.
Last full moon werewolves spawned from the night before full moon until two nights after with by far the highest spawn rates being on the night of full moon, decreasing each night before/after
I think "nests" affect their spawn rates as I had friends go round town and find 1 in an hour but I walked to my nearest fortress and back (300m no nests nearby) and got 12 in about 15 min.
For the first time in many, many years I am actually looking forward to a full moon. When I realized this it felt very odd...

I need 2 more bows!! I tried using my oddity runes today but I’m not sure if I can get it by the full moon.
Well done @Osprey1 ! Jealous you got your bows! I still need three more so I can prestige. We’re going oddity hunting now so maybe I’ll be able to get another purple runestone.
now I am frustrated. Days before the full moon I noticed an uptick in Oddities appearing. Great! The day before the full moon I ran into a werewolf and got a fur. Great! Since then the oddities have been rare and I am out of family runestones. I have encountered a couple of vampires and a few lower-tier confoundables, but no more werewolves. I hope that I do not have to wait another four weeks or more for another attempt. Hopefully it is just randomness and not something I am doing to avoid encounters.
I figure this is just going to be one of the tasks I will have to look at as long term. I can't drive at night and I don't live near a populated area. Slowly trolling through my neighborhood is getting odd looks from the neighbors.
LoL, there are a lot of us getting concerned looks from the neighbors @MizSeeker! On a positive note, this has allowed me to see other people creeping about at night in a whole new way! Sure, some of them are probably shady characters, but it's easy to tell which ones are just other people playing HPWU, PoGo, or Ingress.
It is funny @Acumen - When I get out to a local parking lot with two inns and a greenhouse (fortress nearby) - I am starting to see the same cars show up in the morning. We need that secret sign!
@MizSeeker I have some Harry Potter plushies ditting in the back window of my car as a sign, haha! I’m sure my co-workers May start talking, but my little Hagrid one is so cute! LOL!
