Knight Bus Friends Option

Can Niantic make a way for friends to join each other on the Knight Bus? I would like to be able to play with people I know who are not in my immediate area.

    There are several discussions on this so hoping I found the right one to hit with a user story:

    My wife and I both work and have a baby who sleeps only one or two 30 minute naps between daycare and bed at night. We can’t really go on our own to local fortresses very often so we beacon/call room counts to find one another on Knight Bus - great feature by the way. Most of the time it’s not too rough but when it takes 20+ minutes our gametime together is over before it begins. A suggested feature for this: Put a knight bus icon on the friends list where the current level badges are and let users click them to hop into the friend’s fortress (provided an empty player slot exists). The API is already called to keep gifts and player stats synced - no harm in adding a query for an active fortress ID eh?
