Please don't add confirmations. The menus are already slow and tedious enough. Just be more careful and don't collect things you don't want to collect. Maybe add an undo button that lasts for 5 seconds in a corner or something so if anyone does accidentally collect something they didn't want to, they can quickly undo it.
@RavingRaven It’s really not necessary to have everything in the game be super speedy. An extra second or two to confirm what you want to do is not that big of a deal.
@CeruleanGirl Well if an extra second or two is no big deal, then why not take an extra second or two before tapping the screen to ensure you don't tap incorrectly?
I still think an undo button is the best choice. It doesn't add extraneous taps to the menu for those who don't want them, and makes the accidental sticker placement reversible for those that do.
Confirmation button, undo button, doesn’t matter. I think we all agree it needs something to prevent an accidental placing of an image, plain and simple.
@RavingRaven In answer to your question, they are very different things. If you take an extra second or two to think about something and still do the wrong thing, it’s not a mistake, it’s a bad choice. The whole point of hitting something by accident or mistake is that it’s not something you meant to do, so when would you have thought about it? Taking an extra second to confirm that it wasn’t a mistake is a convenience that would simply give peace of mind and possibly prevent some frustration.
An undo button would, of course, serve the same purpose as a button to cancel/view details/place foundable but a confirm button would be more consistent with the rest of the game. Hence my opinion that a confirm button makes more sense. Your idea for an undo button is not a bad one, I just think that a button with choices would be more user-friendly for this game in particular.
That being said, while a confirm action button would be my preference, I wouldn’t mind anything that helps.
100% agree with @RavingRaven , please do NOT add such confirmation buttons for 2 reasons:
it slows down the process of collecting images which means lost XP when using BBE
Confirm box that are too frequent are a very poor way to prevent error. Indeed as you will collect images frequently your brain will get used to confirm and once you get used to it you'll do it mechanically even when you don't mean to collect the image. A way to undo as proposed by RavingRaven is way better from an UX/error prevention point of view.

I think confirmation would be a great thing. So many times, I want to check on stats and have once or twice tapped on a maxed item.
I just did this trying to check Hagrid on the anniversary 😩 that has been my most painful oops so far. I would love a confirmation button
So much yes!
I have a toddler who loves to help, especially those "shiny ones".
A confirmation would give daddy a split second to intervene and avert calamity.
Very much needed. Fair ask!

Yes please to confirm button before collecting stars

@r0wanRed There is an earlier thread on this subject in the same forum that @hpwulola already responded to.

"Got back Hagrid who I had lost earlier by placing. Yaay :)" My message during baby beasts part 1
Placed it by mistake again. Hagrid is JUST so strategically placed that is SO much more probable to just get clicked while scrolling. I'M CRYING!!!
I agree, it would be nice to have a confirmation. I have accidentally touched and wasted many fragments.
