I'm very disappointed in myself that no matter how many times I try to get through highest chamber I fail. I've worked so hard and spent money for more potions but it's never enough. I wish that the challenge was more realistic. I feel like it was a complete waste of my time, money and energy to not be able to complete.

What is your profession level?
I lost Dark V last night. I'm guessing we had a couple folks that were low level, but were trying to complete their highest level chamber for the challenge. Of course there is no way to tell that when you join a group. I used about 10 health potions, and 6 blue potions trying to keep things moving. Sadly the game worked against us (three Aurors, but only a few Dark Arts opponents), most of our opponents were for the Professor and Magizoologist, who both got knocked out easily and didn't seem to know how to use their own charms on other players. The combination killed us. Lack of in-game communications is also an issue. If we had some way to give tips or make request (please cast the proficiency charm!), then we could help to educated the newer players. So it can be frustrating all around. Playing with friends would be awesome, but then newer players without a friend base would go back to having no one to play with.
I'm level 44. Completed auror lessons and 3/4 way through professor. I tried multiple times as an auror and as professor. Only 1 time did I have another person in with me. None of my friends IRL play any longer.

Auror is the hardest to complete D5 solo. We just aren't invincible or tanks like MZ and profs with their charms. Don't be down on yourself for not soloing D5 and winning. I think my average is maybe 1/10 solo D5 do I finish the battle, and if RNG is against me (which is most of the time) there's just no way.
Try to find a group of randoms online where you are in AAMMP or AAPPM that should help you get through D5 with a win.
@Cmeerkat: Do not do it Solo for your first win. It requires strategy even at mid-level for an auror. We need professors & 1 magiczoologist. I prefer AAPPM group. so each professor can focus on 1 auror. Be prepared and give a tough fight. The trick is to play smart. As soon as you enter, give a professor 3 focus + magizoologist 1 focus (if you don't have enough focus, the potion to brew is strong invigoration). Then go in and fight dark wizard or death eater. If not, wait. If none show up, then see if you have elite charm/hex applied. If so, you can take down any elite foes effectively. I suggest practicing this strategy a lot in lower chambers like "tower or forest" - because all those 5's in dark chambers are serious business! i have lost them due to some other professions fighting to battle 1 dark wizard, leaving me to battle multiple erklings - although i could have taken down all the dark wizards in that round just on my own - at least using potions.
@Cmeerkat I am an Auror and I beat Dark V on my own when I was at Auror Level 15 and around 40 Wizard level (don‘t remember what level I was at exactly but I am currently level 45 and I beat it at least 2 months ago because it was before the Knight Bus.) I used several Potent And Strong Exstimulo Potions, lots of Healing Potions, and a couple of Wit Sharpening too IIRC. So, it’s not impossible. It was difficult, but very satisfying.
@Cmeerkat You can try making a Discord account and joining the various KB groups. Lots of players who will help you if you ask if anyone is available for the task. Group play is still the best, as others mentioned. RNG can mess with your success if solo.
The problem I'm experiencing with the 'Complete a wizarding challenge at your highest level' is 2-fold.
First, I'm lvl 36 auror with a lvl 14 wizarding challenge. My highest level I SHOULD play is Dark ChamberIV, but it doesn't count when I complete it. I have to complete Dark Chamber V, which is 1 lvl above my. current status. I know this form 3 special events ago and it cost me a fortune in potions to complete. ]
The second problem is that no matter how many times I try to get into a lvl 15 challenge, I can't get a group that doesn't drop out in the middle of the fight. I've lost a lot of potions in fights to have all the members drop out, making it impossible to complete.
I wish they would stop including this as a quest until they fix this major issue.
@Baaynor You have really unfortunate luck, it seems. Though I have encountered some poor teams in the fortress, I have only lost a handful. As other players have suggested, Discord is a great tool for supporting team fortressing
