Our recent update, 2.13.C, includes following changes to Wizarding Challenge rewards.
This is to bring Challenge Foundable rewards in-line with the intention of the latest Foundable count changes and Repeat Image Collection. This will only affect Foundables in the Challenge section of the Registry, not the Exploration section.
Base Foundable Rewards will now give you 1 Challenge Foundable Fragment and Family XP.
- A Level 1 Runestones will only give you these base rewards.
- Level 2 Runestones will give you the base rewards plus 100% more Family XP.
- Level 3 Runestones will give you base rewards plus 1 additional Challenge Foundable Fragment and 100% Family XP.
- Level 4 Runestones will give you base rewards plus 1 additional Challenge Foundable Fragment and 200% Family XP.
- Level 5 Runestones will give you base rewards plus 2 additional Challenge Foundable Fragment and 200% Family XP.

This was a scheduled update, and I want to assure you that we are still looking into 2.13.0 Fragment issues. Please keep comments on this thread relevant to the topic, thank you!
For reference, here are Orange Wizard's graphics. They are always helpful in understanding these updates!
By 100% or more family reward means its become 20 Fxp or more? Base family exp still 10 isnt it?
Your Database ist broken, your loosing players by the minute und you got time for this?
What are you guys smoking in the office?
Thanks for details on the update... right now is a horrible time to reduce rewards, while we have all the fragment issues from the "fixes", though. You think that they could have waited to push this through, to avoid upsetting even more people.
A brake for redbook gathering? 😬
Before everyone gets up in arms about this "reduction" in challenge rewards, it will return the relative rate of gaining challenge fragments to approximately what they were before the big change to the registry.
After the change to the registry, many angry posters complained that it was now too easy to get red books. Now people are complaining that they're making it "harder" to get red books. You can't have it both ways.
Somebody please take a backup before rollout and put transaction history tables into the database too
Lets not keep on making the same mistakes and not learning from them
Are you kidding? First you don't let us into the challenges in the first place, because of the lag bug. Then we can't get teams together, because there are far to few people on the busses. And now you cut the rewards by 75%?
And that's not even mentioning the lost fragments which for many people are still not restored.
Well, that was it with cold, hard cash from me for a VERY long time. Not that with changes AND bugs like this the game will be around for a very long time, anyways.
And how about you add fixes to your errors to your schedule? Since you seem to be so good to add the errors in the first place.
Anyone had update their phone to this please comment. 😬
Why have the biggest changes to the player's way of life in the past 72 hours, been unproductive and without as much warning as the brilliant events/quidditch weekend?
We can know about frivolous things for WEEKS/MONTHS ahead of time but something so DETRIMENTAL as FRAGMENT LOSS and a REDUCTION OF CHALLENGE REWARDS happens within the blink of an eye.
This is taking away the joy and purpose of the game.
Not seeing changes to family xp
Is that broken? Not yet live?
@hpwulola
This is live. It is a backend update, so you don't have to update your app to see it's effects.
The decreased fragments are live but the changes to family xp are not
ok....I lost a lot of challenge fragments at May 7th because I prestiged to early....
on May 27th I lost all the green stars in the challenge registry.....
up to now nothing of that is restored. It seems that Nia don't know how to do it.
And now they tell me that I have to do more than 100 fortress fights ....only to get the old status again....
really ???

Maybe its not family xp? Logo infographic shows is challenge xp
It’s definitely Challenge fragments. Just trialled it on the Knight Bus.

This is just depressing. I saw new assets to download and got so excited... like finally I'm getting my fragments back. After all, there was no mention of this "planned" update 24 hours ago. But then, nope. I don't get my stolen fragments back, and then they made it 3x harder to replace the fragments via game play. Absolutely deflating. After being jerked around all month about the fragment issue, and the devs claiming last night that the issue is finally, fully "fixed" while I'm still missing thousands of fragments, I just don't understand why they'd push this out today without any prior notice. Can we please get advanced notice of significant updates to game play BEFORE you make them?
@hpwulola Going to be honest, I am a bit disappointed with this rolling out right now. Keeping it in perspective - just a game - but yeah. Also, what is the point in saving Level 5 runestones now? Only one extra fragment and same cxp as Level 4?
I am hoping this is part of big picture stuff that we are not aware of. Higher chambers with higher rewards, or those oft teased 6-10 runestones in the works. Something that made you go, "Right. Those max rewards need adjusting."
Thanks for clearing this up.
A bit curious why you didn't decide to reward one Challenge Fragment for the level of the runestone, i.e. one for level one, two for level two, etc. I get that you want to make it more challenging but I don't often receive level five runestones :(
This is make a balance challenge family XP, because there's a bonus for teammate family XP and max fragment too.
I can understand you need little change about number of challenge fragment.
But reduce too much!
Please give us half number fragment at least!
I am mixed on this. On one hand, I felt it became "way too easy" to get fragments with the first change, and there was no real point to to.
On the other hand, I'm not sure this is the best way to go. The rewards for higher-level runestones doesn't go up quickly.
One solution would have been to make fortress foundable prestige levels be higher based on the expected runestone used -- so if you were expected to use level 4 (dark drops), you'd have higher fragment numbers than if you were expected to use level 1 (ruins drops).
However, as I am writing this, I realized one critical *GAIN* from this method -- portkeys containing fragments are now meaningful.
... I think this last point makes this new system worth keeping.
Are you kidding me? First you have problems with the last update, now with "the fix" for that update and now you cut the rewards by 75%? And that's not even mentioning the lost fragments which for many people are still not restored.
And how about you add fixes to your errors to your schedule?
@AnimagusYT just posted this ^
Honestly I really can't understand you... what was the point of reducing the fragments required for challenge foundables in the first place if you immediatly reduce the rewards by like 80 to 90%?
So at this rate are we expecting to earn a half exploration foundable by tomorrow?
..... why not don't touch the challenge foundables at all?
Your obsession with changing the entire game is killing it. I mean you could have just upped the rate of rare foundable's apparition and that's it.
But no you had to make all this so to sum up, we have to use 10 runes in fortresses which lags waaaay too much to be enjoyed. I actually fell asleep by waiting for the challenge to start. While we only earn between 1 and 3 challenge foundables. Do you see any enjoyment in this? I don't (anymore).
Adding the Knights Bus significantly increased my enjoyment of the game, and I appreciate the COVID changes, so I'll write off the irritation of the fragment awards changes for the moment to ask this question: if the intent of this change was to be reduce the rate at which we earn red books., can we expect new sets of lessons plans soon (coinciding with the one year anniversary?) so we can spend the red books we have? It's like I'm hoarding books and scrolls like they were wizard TP here.
I’m also very frustrated that they greatly reduced the number of challenge fragments you receive. I was having fun with the game again building a second profession so I could switch back and forth from challenge to challenge. It takes a lot of spell books to fully build a profession and the higher number of fragments made it more doable any time soon. Now it will take forever, and my joy with this game has dropped again.
You may have had people complaining that we were getting too many spellbooks, but that’s nothing compared to the number of people who were enjoying it and are now upset you’ve reduced obtaining them after increasing the ease. I would highly recommend changing it back. Bad move.
