how many armageddon events is niantic/hpwu capable of inflicting on a once loyal and still naive player-base ? the possibilities seem endless.
i have taken screenshots of my registry and won’t be touching the game other than to walk off some portkeys (without opening them) and collecting some ingredients and SE and brewing some potions.
no clicking on anything that could result in adding fragments until things are properly fixed and restored.
and that’s a shame because i was looking forward to the upcoming weekend event to get quidditch fan hermione and quidditch captain harry ... maybe niantic/hpwu should postpone the weekend event and other future events until everything is properly fixed and restored! (oh wait ... 🤦🏻♂️)

I did not receive any of my lost fragments, yet I was affected by this latest "fix". I lost thousands of fragments both times... will I still be receiving the fragments that I lost the first round, when the next fix comes? Or should I just prepare for more disappointment and request a refund for all money spent on this game, since several month of time spent is now wasted?
I'm sure you will have all this sorted before the event this weekend, right @hpwulola ? or those of us that got messed up won't even be able to play........
Now I am missing fragments. Even those which I had done several rimes over. My husbands acount is also missing whole pages of fragments. What can I do about this? Some of the fragments missing I had won from wizarding challenges from the Forest and on.
@hpwulola I don't think I got fragments back, image below. First image is from May 6th showing 25/33 of Harry & Parvati. Next two are from May 7th, before & after prestige - 15 fragments lost. Since then I've placed the four other foundables on the page and returned Harry & Parvati four times. Fourth image is from today - I've tried restarting game, but no fragments returned - if fragments were returned, I'd expect to see 15/13 or 19/13, but it still at 4/13. Is there a reason why my fragments haven't been returned? Should I expect them back or are they forever lost?
I opened the registry to a lot of red dots in Exploration and Challenges. While clicking them i realized that i was starring foundables that i had already finished. Looking through the registry there seem to be foundables that i finished which now appear to not have been finished not even once. Then some foundables have more fragments than i remember having. I have very recent screenshots for comparison.

I have many more cases like this where completed foundables disappeared. I have no sc to compare it to, but i had finished the bludger, golden snitch and snap cards (i mean who even has the bludger and snitch unfinished after the last Quiditch event? ) Even though it says i caught 4 bludgers, it shows Seen o.
@hpwulola before you guys go rush another "fix" maybe take some time to be sure you are understanding the problem adequately. I do not think your post indicates that you are. It seems to be much more complex than just "the fragments lost their data and we are adding it back." For me, the fragments that I lost are ENTIRELY DIFFERENT ONES than the ones I received.
Edited to add details: For example, on my Forbidden Forest page: this morning, I had placed 3 items on the Bronze page (hippogriff, baby unicorn, and skrewt) and was still needed to complete brown centaur, dragon egg and puff skein to prestige to silver. Now, my counts are as follows on the page (still bronze, nothing placed)

Centaur 13/10
Skrewt 4/20
Baby Unicorn 4/20
Dragon Egg 9/20
Puffskein 16/14
The skrewt and baby unicorn numbers make me suspect ALL of my frags went back to where they were on May 7. Before then, both of those items had a requirement of 4 frags, which is why they went back to 4 now.
My fragment got “restored” this morning. Basically any images I had placed are now unplaced but the count is whatever they were when they were placed. In the light of the changes from the update I was trying to be positive and just continue playing the game but now I don’t think I will be... at least for a while. All my hard work this last week and a bit is gone. Disappointing
The one that sticks out the most to me is the star missing from the quidditch though the ages book. I placed that one and hunted the fragments specifically for the weekend event and now I need 9 more fragments to place it.
I'm also missing green stars from quill of acceptance, wealey clock, remberall, buckbeak, Norwegian ridgeback, quidditch harry, music box, quibble, myrtle, and peeves. Other than that I'm not quite sure what was lost other than a couple of things I placed earlier today suddenly have 1 fragment missing and aren't placed (quidditch fan hermione and puking pastilles).
Thank you to the wu team though honestly. This must be a huge headache and I seriously respect you guys for trying to fix things.
on the page quidditch stands Luna and Neville were both placed with zero additional and now they are not placed and only 8/15 fragments and I don’t think I can catch them again to place before the weekend. @hpwulola

Another bugged happened after I got my lost fragments. I was collecting quiddich stands in preparation for this weekend event and got 14/14 to finish my bronze page but still need ron keeper to prestige the page. I starred the stands to go to 0/14 star showing that it was completed. I logged in today and I am now at 4/14 without the star again. Am i just out of luck or can this be addressed before this weekend?
The "Seen" number went to zero on all the foundables that I lost the placed images on, as well as on ones that popped up with red dots needing to be placed over again. Other foundables still have their Seen numbers, presumably correct.
This didn't affect everything placed since May 7. I lost 8 placed images, but I've placed way more than that. I've been playing non-stop for the last 3 weeks. And I placed Tank of Brains just this morning, and it's unaffected: still placed and says 0/5, which is correct.
At first I thought that the fragment fractions remained the same, only not placed. (E.g. green star + 1/9 became 1/9.) But that is not true in all cases. E.g. I just placed Nimbus 2000 this morning I think, so it should have been green star + 0/9, but now it's at no green star + 7/9. So that's... really random.
I don't know if any of this helps. But I used to work in QA and I know that this kind of information can lead to tracking down the exact source of the bug.
I lost progress :( I completed Hermione's Wand this morning on the second Wands challenge page, and now it is showing as incomplete again. Also completed four of five books on the first Books challenges page, and now all books are showing as incomplete again.
I'm not touching anything until all of this is solved.
I have another ‘bug’? to report...in addition to stars disappearing, and I just blindly updated everything (when will I learn)? Now I can’t ‘hasten’ the animation after I know I’ve won the foundable. Kinda helps speed up the game when ****. Anybody else noticing?

Here is a quick summary of what happened today:
We released a fix for the 2.13 Fragment issue today. However, Images that received the restored fragments with this fix also lost associated data, which includes the Placement status (green star) and Seen Details. We keep backups of this data and we have a planned fix to restore this to impacted accounts.
We are currently testing this fix. Once we've verified its success , we will release it. Please avoid placing affected Images and Prestiging your Registry pages until we've released the fix. We are aiming for this to happen within the next few hours and I will keep you updated on this as I know more.
Also, I do want to reassure you that you did not need to keep count or have screenshots from before. We have a backup of all this data, but I asked this of you earlier to get immediate examples for the team to look at and determine the issue. Thank you all for the help with live troubleshooting. It was extremely helpful for us.
@Smyrna38 'Skip Animation' ability is also tied to the associated data for Foundables. The game is currently assuming that you are seeing this Foundable for the first time, and therefore is not letting you skip the animation. When we restore the associate Foundable data, this should revert to normal.

Does that mean that the "fix" going out today was stopped midway once the problem was discovered and perhaps my account had not been attended to, yet? Or, had all accounts been "fixed" and since there was no change to mine it means I was not going to get the missing fragments back?
I'm glad to hear that you all keep backups of our data because I just spend hours sifting through screenshots to try to figure out my approximate loss so I can file an individual complaint. but unfortunately I have very limited records. But I'm becoming increasingly concerned that the "fix" was never intended to give me back any fragments, and knowing either way would ease some anxiety.
ETA: If for some reason I'm not slated to get lost fragments returned, @hpwulola, is there anyway I can gain access to my backup data to determine what I should ask for in an individual complaint? I like the game, I don't want to stop playing, but I worked 200x harder on gaining the fragments lost, spent significant time and cash, and I just have a really icky feeling that because I trusted HPWU to fix the problem and continued playing, I'm SOL.

Ummm you gave me back fragments but took even more I away. I had bronze and silver pages that are now back to the standard. The fix broke my game!!!!

I didnt count my missing/returned fragments but the fragments can not go beyond after the returned exceed the cap (i am to scared to tap/starred it).
Also the missing supposed to be starred image kind of discouraging isnt it.
