If you're an Auror you need at least 1 Prof and 1 Magi. In Dark 5 we can only hope they know what their role is. My role as an Auror is to throw focus first to the Prof and later to the Magi. I hit hard but die fast. I need the proffencey and protection charms. I'm not getting far without them and won't waste entergy fighting spiders without them. Won't fight them at all unless it can't be avoided. And I'll for sure need to be revived.
Magis are healers. Yeah you want to fight and might need to but you have to revive. No one is any good to the team dead. I can't count the times our only magi has left us hanging 2 minutes into the battle. Just left. Glitch? Belong in Tower Chambers? Same has happened with Profs too.
My point is Dark 5 isn't a training ground. I would love to give advice and help teach but the game isn't set up to allow that. My high level stones are getting fewer everyday and I can't afford to waste them on people who shouldn't be there to begin with.

How do you determine whether they should be there? They have unlocked the chamber so it's a free for all atm.
I would like to see players limited to their profession level. I'm a level 15 Auror but if I switched to Magi or Prof my training is much lower.
I don't think that me attempting Dark V as either a Magi or Prof is fair on anyone. In my 2nd and 3rd professions I should be restricted to my level of training.
Of course it's much easier to open chamber levels now but I doubt anything will change from what we have in place.
If you've ever played Pogo the equivalent is doing a raid with players that are level 40 with say 200 catches to their name.
Yes, it's other people carrying them. I dont think Niantic see it as an issue.
Hi, I am pretty new to doing fortresses with a group (since the knight bus) and am trying hard to learn, I am a magizoologist and can get to the dark chamber #1. Can you recommend somewhere that I can see what all of the symbols mean, also where I can watch/read how to do battle better? Thank you, DadsPeaches

This is helpful; thank you so much! I think I am doing things mostly right. A couple of questions? So it's ok to pause and see what I should be doing? I feel guilty if I'm not fighting all of the time. 😜 also, sometimes there will be foes left that are not spiders or erklings and others who are not Magi are not fighting anything but are not jumping in, what's up with that? Should I? I try not to fight with more than one other magi, should I wait for battles hwere I am the only one? Should I wait for battles where there are 5 competitors or is it ok to go in with 3 esp if they are one of each profession? Thank you again!!

Yes, thinking is allowed! I myself tend to briefly check what the Aurors are doing before wading in.
You can get out of a battle with a foe halfway to see how everyone is doing. So go ahead.
The amount of players depends on chamber and player levels. But as you cannot see the player levels: I'd only take the chance if you're pretty sure you can mop up most of the chamber. You're a magi: correct?

Yup, Magi. Weird happenings tonight. Twice people just left in the middle of battles; one time leaving just two of us (we did manage to finish successfully) and the other time leaving just me (kept going for a battle or two and then when it was clear that I couldn't do it alone I left as well). I was feeling kind of like I had done something wrong and people were retaliating or something! but then I got an error message in the middle of a battle and did it myself. So I am hoping that it is just really glitchy right now and not that anyone is doing this on purpose.
Confirmed @DadsPeaches. Currently there is a very very *very* nasty bug going around. It can result in players being booted. Not all make it back. If you are ever confronted with a little window saying "restart", don't. Hard close the app, and open it again. You might have to do it more than once: but it'll take you back.
Until the bug resolved as a magi be sure to always check the first player aka the player with red circle.
And for fighting foe aside from spider and erkling. I usually just take the low (common-formidable) if there are too many of them. Lower enemy still can be fight without to much time to waste.
Taking higher star enemy if there are no job for that foe (ex. Battle only mix 2 job)
Let the expert fight their best foe.
@DadsPeaches If you're stranded in a fortress that you cannot win if y9u sit out the timer you will still get a reward. No runestone gift but there is a small amount of XP.
So here's a thing, I got a notice on my WU settings to download all assets, which I did, and I haven't had any issues since. Not really sure if it has anything to do with the problem but thought it worth mentioning. And thanks for being so helpful to me!
