Agreed in the not so much spell energy spawning. I sometimes have the game open to collect any around and ignoring traces.
There are a couple of lockdown threads where people are asking for spell energy gifts. I'm sure if you posted you would get people add you to assist.
I am very mindful that although our restrictions are very strict (Australia) I am able to get out to take a walk to replenish my gifts. I live in an area that you would possibly describe as rural although I'm fairly happy with spawns, inns etc. It's certainly not the best but it's doable.

Higher level players get first access so if you're not level 40 work on that first.
