Things I Feel Should Be Reworked:
• SPELL ENERGY
◘Increase starting energy pool to 100 (75 is just weird anyway)
◘Too difficult to maintain substantial energy - everything requires energy with no meaningful way to replenish
◘Poor Return on Investment at Inns - Too little energy returned for a 5 minute wait time.
Either return more energy or remove wait time and place a maximum number of times a person can eat at an inn before a 30 minute cooldown period ensues. e.g. you can eat 4 times but there will be a cooldown thereafter. In addition, perhaps allow for a modification item to be used at an inn (much like heat sinks and multihacks in Ingress)
◘Allow more ways to get energy (some have mentioned a daily reset or time build. Personally, I like the way you'd get XM in Ingress but I don't know how that could feasibly be implemented to reflect energy build (when you have to literally walk) gain.
•POTIONS
◘If it allows 4 spell casts (for example), then make it 4 spell casts across foundables. Put a timer on it if you have to. But when someone uses a potent potion and then gets the foundable on the first try, the rest of that potion is wasted. Perhaps 15 to 20 minutes to use up the potion.
•WALKING/DRIVING
◘Increase max speed before driving warning. Some play on bikes. The current level is set so low that riding a bike, even at slow speeds triggers it. With inns, greenhouses, and fortresses so far apart in some places, this would allow the intent of Niantic (exercise) to continue while not punishing those who bike ride by disallowing them portkey advancement.
◘Allow an "Adventure Sync" system. Especially considering the battery usage of this game. While there is a "battery saver" mode, it's not adequate in that respect. Even if one leaves the app open but turns the screen off, it still ceases to count your distance. In addition, I sometimes (and I know I'm not the only one) multitask while walking... be it (in addition to HP:WU) geocaching, Pokemon Go, canvassing for a political candidate, or talking to someone on the phone, etc. None of those things are possible without adventure sync (exception Pokemon Go can be on sync itself).
•PORTKEYS
◘As many have requested, allow those who cannot AR an option to delete port keys so they can advance in the events. This does not affect me personally, but I can surely understand the frustration.
◘Rather than only clicking on simple sparkly things, allow us a 'difficult option' wherein we have to find certain items for better rewards (i.e. hidden item mini-game)
•ACHIEVEMENTS
◘Remove achievements that are literally impossible for most (looking at you, multiple country achievement)
•MAP and TRACES
◘Allow a static/dynamic toggle for the map compass. (Self explanatory)
◘Give an energy pool indicator on the map
◘Indicator next to family icon of trace on map that indicates progress in that specific family (not necessary but would be nice to have)
◘When entering a trace, indicate how many fragments are still required for that specific foundable.
◘Indicator when a given inventory is full (think "encumbered")
•PROFILE
◘Allow sharing of avatar image - make it toggle (Do you want to share your image?)
◘Chat capability. I would recommend NOT allowing open world chat, but it would be nice to be able to contact people in friends list. I would like to see PM and Team/Group options.
◘Trade with friends. Energy and inventory would be ideal - even if it's set up in a similar manner to PoGo, though would prefer a method similar to Ingress (where you can select the items).
•PROFESSIONS
◘Increase book drops (specifically green books). Even if still limited to events.

I have more but I have to head out for now. Will add more later. Others, please feel free to add your ideas and findings here as well.
Comments
Many great suggestions! In Professions for Professors the Confidence upgrade costs scrolls plus 15 green books. Lowering that cost appears to make sense.
I want to add focus pool to this list. I LOVE playing support roles (especially healer). While there are skills in the profession tree to boost focus pool, they are few and far between (and frankly, get expensive). This is a huge hindrance when playing in a fortress with others trying to keep them healed.
very good!! up
A potion to refill energy would also be an option. Maybe 3 potions / 3 tiers:
10%
50%
100%
I think a reduction in gold cost for silver keys would be great too. I dont come by many and for this challenge I need to open 5 port keys. It would be great if I could get 4 for 200 gold. Or an option to buy more gold keys maybe 10 dollars a peice or something.
Hey everyone. Keep "liking" this. It's on the "Best of" category. I want to keep this up there so that Niantic sees it.
Have daily quests given by just opening game.
@HypnoTraveler - I'm not sure I understand your point.
At this point Daily Assignment tab has to be opened for the dailies to show up. I’m suggesting that we are given the Daily Assignments without opening the tab. Still collect and refer to assignments same as now. @Craeft
Options menu
Audio menu
The audio menu needs to have the ability to adjust the volume for music and sound effects.
Map
The map needs an energy icon indicator showing you how much energy do you have before entering a battle.
Remove the compass icon on the map there is a compass around your character you really don't need the indicator icon on the map.
Store
It would be nice to have the ability to buy wizard challenge tower or an Inn in the store to place at your house. Unfortunately I live in the country and there is nothing around me I have to travel several miles to go into town to play the game. I usually get one battle that pops up at my house every 2 hours and once I run on energy I'm screwed.
Nursery
It would be nice to have a nursery tab in the game to grow your plants. In the same way as the brewing potions some plants it take a certain number times just like the brewing process. And you can still keep the community nurseries that you come across. Unfortunately if you plant something now somebody else can come around and take that plant when it's done leaving you high and dry.
Brewing process
You need to cut down the time it takes to brew your potions. I understand you want people to buy stuff in the store but cutting the time on brewing items would be beneficial.
Selling items
It would be beneficial if you added ability when selling items that you gained some gold coins.
Sharing items
It would be wonderful if you could share items to your friends on your friend list.
I'm sure there's more I'll keep on adding to this thread.

@Suguha01
Options is available by going into the briefcase and then upper left corner. In there, you will also find audio options.
If I understand your point on audio, you would like to see a volume level slider as opposed to simply on/off. I agree. I think that would be useful.
Compass / Map addressed in original post except the concept of removing the compass icon. I see (and agree with) your point. Unless they allow a static/dynamic toggle, the compass icon is redundant. If they allow the toggle, then it should remain (as the icon to select to toggle it).
The rest either was addressed in the original post or I have no stance on it. But excellent post and I appreciate it. The more Niantic hears from us, the better. It's our job to let them know how to make the game better. Many times, the devs play the game in their bubble (happens with literally EVERY game) so they need to hear feedback from the players out in the world.
@CRAEFT should these suggestions be in separate threads? I feel like the more comments you get, the more likely the discussions on each topics are to get lost.
@DoomedJupiter - The problem is that when you have 50,000 threads (exaggeration), it's hard for moderators to keep track, hence the point of consolidation. This (hopefully) gives them one thread to pore through on issues.
Having modded lots of forums, I always preferred a single thread with many ideas than many threads all focusing on one idea.
I was thinking in the universe the don't just use potions to overcome foes. It would be a good addition if they were able to add items as well that you could craft or buy. I'm thinking the stink bombs or noise makers they use or even finding lesser invisibility cloaks that lower the difficulty or lower the chance that confoundables disappear . Just a thought to add some spice and different play style they could be easier to craft bit like a one use item.
When buying a specific item (and not an offered bundle or crate) in Diagon Alley, there should be an option to input the amount you wish to purchase.
Exaggerating, but if I wanted to outright buy 10,20,50 or 100 Strong Exstimulo potions, I'd like to be able to do it in one transaction rather than tapping the item, then tapping the gold amount, watching a pretty animation of the purchased item surrounded by **** stars aaaaand repeat etc 25 times or however many times I fancy. Allowing to purchase in increments would be very helpful and expedient.
Very good suggestions! I also have the same idea about the in-game chat and trading with friends. The in-game chat can be an easy way to setup a meeting with our friends e.g. to raid a fortress together. The trading can help us manage our inventory better too because I always have my vault full and need to dispose of several items. Niantic can add owleries in the map to support this or maybe we can adopt our own owls instead!
What do you think, guys? 😁
Many great suggestions.
I'd like a redo of the portkey notifications. Now when you have multiple queued and they unlock at the same time, you'll get x times the same popup taking you to the same place. 1 times is sufficient.
As for Inns, I'd like to see items that can either increase the energy gained or reduce the cooldown. Like the portal mods in Ingress. Can be persistent (for perma farms) or timed (flash farming).
Things I'd like to see improved/added:
-Sharing of profile photo in game and forums (let us help you sell more cosmetics, duh!)
-Events should be deeper, more challenging and take more time
-Player versus player duels, quidditch etc. Cooperative is amazing but also give us the option to compete with eachother
🐍
Some ideas not mentioned above (I think!):
Very annoying when I just got 3 masterful casts in a row and it resisted every time (on a unicorn). There is not enough energy in this game for that.
Higher average energy given at Inns.
(Moving this here per your request)
While I'm adding Wizards ID numbers from all over the world I cant help thinking that it would be really great if we could chat on the app. I know I'll probably never be in the same fortress as most of my new friends but it would be nice to get to know you all nonetheless. Also, I had the wonderful experience of watching The Order of the Phoenix with a live orchestra at the Hollywood bowl last week and the coolest thing was going in to a battle with 12 other people, of which I only knew one. I wish I could have chatted with the people I was fighting alongside.
Cheers,

Improvements:
1º Make a power bar on the map.
2º Finish with notifications of adding changes to the photo.
3º Friends - (send gifts), (Exchanges) and (Duels) - Send to friends daily extra energy, ingredients ... . Exchange ingredients with friends and duels. The duels explain in topic # 10.
4º Communication - Enable a way of communicating with people from the same country and friends. Approval for children under 18 to avoid incidents.
5º Potions - Creation of 3 new potions (15 energy) (30 energy) (45 energy). Everyone complains about energy.
6º Keys - Increase the drop of silver keys.
7º Portkeys - Create a secondary way of people unlock portals. More players will start playing.
8º Fortress - It is boring to do the spells that appear on the screen, at least there should be possibilities. The energy that is spent in the fortresses is a lot. Divide in two. Each magic of 0.5 energy.
9º Events - It would be interesting to put a mega fortress by country, or by planet, where it could enter anywhere on the planet. The final prize would be for the player's dedication to the fortress.
10º Duels between players - There will be duels between players from all over the world, and not only between friends. This would get a lot of people to start playing.
@ManuelCastro - I disagree with the duel/PvP aspect unless any rewards given from such gameplay is PvP only items (with a specific PvP inventory slot) and doesn't include/involve any achievements. If the PvP aspect is separate from rest of game, I'm 100% on board.
In terms of PvP, however, I think it would be neat to incorporate quidditch. Though I'm not sure how outside of community events.
The PVP would be for when you do't want to go to the street, but you want to play.
The achievements would be these only:
Number of duels:
10 duels
50 duels
100 duels
1000 duels
Number of matches won:
10 duels
50 duels
100 duels
1000 duels
The duels do not expend energy. But if you won a duel you would gain 3 energy for example.
I say leave achievements out of it. To make achievements for it alienates the player base who are completionists. PvP should be a side game.
Look at it this way... What about RPers? Do they get any special achievement for their play style? If so, how would that work?
Personally, I feel the game should remain PvE focused and anything beyond that is a mechanic that doesn't equate to progression in any way. Otherwise, it's an imbalanced system and in too many games have I seen that imbalance favor PvP, thereby alienating a majority of player base.
There are so many PvP centric games out there, I'd hate to see this game follow. I'd leave, without hesitation, if they started giving special achievements to pvpers. It's just not that type of game. Especially when there are so many other game breaking issues to deal with first (cough, energy, cough).
With energy mentioned, duels should absolutely expend energy. What you're asking for is a free way to GAIN energy that those who dislike PvP can't get. Any spell cast in PvP should absolutely use energy. And anything gained in return should be PvP specific (not usable in PvE environment).
But with all that said, that's my personal opinion on it and I enjoy the counter opinions. If they went that route due to popular demand, I couldn't and wouldn't fault them. I'm not saying don't allow PvP, but I don't think special bonuses should be in order for it. It's a play style, not a play base.
I would be very curious to hear others' input on this. I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority of those who interact with forums and that's cool but I would love to get that discussion going; benefits, downfalls, interest, and ideas how to implement. I think it would be a rather fascinating and impassioned discussion.
Absolutely NOT COOL when a player uses a potion initially and then goes to cast a spell to find out no energy.
I'll be leaving this game very soon. It's wasted my time and my money (I have purchased coins).
Niantic, you need to seriously fix this energy ****.
I'm seriously surprised to not see any mention of better battery improvements. They use so many resources inefficiently that my wife has to permanently play attached to a battery charger.
@M3lk0r It might be time for a new phone. Its not that bad on a 2018/2019 release phone. There is a battery saver option as well. My wife was using an iPhone 7. We had to upgrade her.
Up this thread, most of the improvements listed here would be absolutely awesome.
I hope developers will came here.
