Community Check In
Hello Everyone!
I was thinking this morning about how forum members sort of come and go, and will have quiet periods. But in this uncertain time, we all want to know that everyone is safe and well.
So, this is a little community check in. How is everyone feeling, is everyone present and correct?

@Magpie31 Its nice that you’ve done this. Hopefully everyone is well.
Also, my check in:
I’m feeling well. I am present and correct.
😉❤️😊
Present and accounted for. My wife and I have been working from home for the past few weeks. I'm not too stir crazy yet, but ask me how I feel in two more weeks.
Not present enough and rarely correct 😂 but still here lurking ....
All good here. My garden is keeping me sane.
Changed my mind on my previous post, @Milliebob13, so ignore that.
Basically, lovely to see you playing on here! Nice to see the others too.
Would be nice to hear from @Acumen and @hpwulola - haven't seen either of you around much lately.
Hungry on Redbook realizing that many have finished their lessons. While before i just fortressing at slow pace with only level 1 rune. Shame on me. LoL
Still present, still reading, still correct. Less writing though.
I think a lot of us feel that way, @Lucoire. I feel like a broken record, at times. Glad to see you are still around!
@Magpie31 I try to be kind, I try to be understanding and polite. But when I fail to adhere to the principles and demeanors that a Prefect should follow, I think "not writing anything" is the best option.
@Lucoire Good principle to follow. I always forget that this forum technically has prefects!
this forum technically has prefects!
Not just technically 😉
@Lucoire Yes, I know you have access to the prefect's bathroom (or whatever you like to call that area), but I don't believe you have soft moderation powers, which could be a useful thing and take some pressure off the HPWU team. But that is another conversation for another day :)
The forum desperately needs proper and effective moderation
@Lucoire - if you have contacts within WU would you please pass on the message that there are several people ready and willing to help @hpwulola @HPWUblue just in case you are watching
Present but only rarely correct ;)
I've had lots of fun at home Wizarding with the TTD...can't do my dailies but oh well. Safety first.
Our area of the US is under mandatory quarantine (shelter in place) through the end of April. Son is able to work from home but daughter is not employed since her workplace is non-essential and ordered to close during the quarantine. Husband and I are retired so life is good with the kids at home.
Prayers for all the Witches Wizards and Muggles during this pandemic. We are living through an important historical time.
I hope to see many more forum friends check in.
Nurse Poppy reminds you to wash your hands!
@Magpie31 Thank you for check on us and asking us to check in.
@Acumen Don't make us go full professor on you! Your working on a massive detention. Siriusly PLEAASE check in!
I and my family are well. We are under shelter in place orders. Still allowed outside for exercise no playgrounds and there is a safe park that allows a lot of physical distancing.
I had a some rough anxious days, aggravated by social media. I took a few days off to regroup and center myself. I am being much more selective and limiting media time.
As a family we baked, colored, played board games, and watched movies.
Professionally continuing education so I have been working on that. I am considering starting another in game profession so I have been researching those strategies. There is good video may post a link to in another discussion. Trying to decide if I want multiple professions so I can switch hit when we can group fortress again, or add an basic auror skills for on map encounters for oddities, or just sit my assets waiting for new professional lessons. Probably the latter.
My favorite classes to teach are transfiguration and magical metal forming and forging.
Staring to study so I can substitute teach magizoology and maybe charms. Probably not potions. Not my strong point! I pulled out some old textbooks for a little light reading. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, also The Monster Book of Monsters. Side note my copy of MBoM is so well read it is almost tame. Note almost! I did get a decent nip yesterday-nothing essence of dittany couldn't cure.
Came across a fascinating subject studying magizoology taxonomical genus Troglodytarum, and subspecies, Troglodytarum alpinum,Troglodytarum sylvaticum, and Troglodytarum aquam fluminis. It is a surprising controversial topic in the magical world.
Hoping all are well and safe.
@ZookiTabooki how are you?
Feeling like a little mischief might be in order, but my map just keeps showing me: "Messrs Moony, Padfoot, Wormtail, and Prongs advise you to keep your abnormally large nose to yourself."
So I suppose I shall just solemnly swear to be up to no good.... 😉😇😈
@Owlx please remember that feeding said troglodytarum is dangerous and not recommended for anyone!
Glad to hear everyone is doing well! Yes, I agree we might need to accio @Acumen back from his hidey hole and @ZookiTabooki has also disappeared into hiding again. @LadyRedIII has been suspiciously absent for a while as well... Should we start checking the dungeon or seek out the room of requirement first as their hiding spot?
@Bormacska agreed on all points!
Vaguely present and dubiously correct.
Lockdown has worsened my depression. I even stopped playing the magical mischief event halfway through because I got tired and got hit with a bout of sadness. I had thought that this event might cheer me up, but apparently not.
Might be absent for inconsistent periods of time.
@LeFayeofAlbion
OH hun, sorry to hear about depression. I understand that struggle!
We are here for you. Come talk. It helps and we're here to listen
@LeFayeofAlbion I am so sorry. Times of uncertainty are hard for everyone, but even more so for those with existing mental health conditions, especially when our coping techniques are restricted. Please do reach out and talk to us - we are all here to listen and support each other through. You know where to find us.
da missus just found an unopened bag of Ghirardelli peppermint bark chocolate squares tucked away in the garage fridge from this past Christmas ... life under lockdown just got a little bit better
stay safe, folks
I wonder how I missed that @kiheikid. Unopened Christmas chocolate is always a bonus.
How is everyone keeping now? Are things starting to open up where you are, or are we still locked down?
