New Gameplay! See SOS Report ... there isn't one

I just got the in-game popup telling me that there's gameplay changes, and to see the SOS report for more information.
But there isn't an SOS report blurb for this. The newest is still event part 1.

Why is the SOS report found by going to special assignments, and going to the bottom, and not in the SOS assignment page?

The "SOS report" is the Ingame news section, not to be confused with sos assignments.
The quickest way to get there from map view is to tap on the suitcase button and then on the newspaper icon in the center of the screen.
No. The "newspaper" from the suitcase view takes you to one news article.
To get to the "front page" with all the news articles -- the full SOS report -- the only way I've found is from "Special Assignments", and not from "SOS assignments".
The "View"-Button takes you to the frontpage article.
But tapping on the Newspaper anywhere but the "View"-Button will take you to the overview.
@Lucoire is correct. It's a funky interface. You just tap on the pic or writing, not "View." Then you are taken to the "Newsletter" screen.
