no more mountains to climb ?

topic discussed, or at least touched upon, previously in many other threads:
are there any more mountains to climb, after: (1) professional skill tree is completed; (2) SOS assignments are completed (with possible exception of that cursed “three teammates” wizarding challenges task); (3) highest level fortress chambers have been conquered; and (4) registry pages are either fully prestiged with images placed or as a practical matter too difficult to prestige due to ridiculously rare missing foundables ... ?
yes, there are new brilliant events, but the prize of green books are not needed for awhile for those (professors) who have completed professional skill tree. so it’s just jumping through hoops to fill the new brilliant event registry pages.
yes, there are red books to be earned from fortress grrrrrinding and occasional rewards from special events, but again, the completed skill tree for professors means no further red books are needed for awhile.
i am particularly interested in what the ANZAC beta-testers (professors or otherwise) here think, as they may have already completed most goals reasonably capable of being completed or at least are nearing completion of those goals ... will we all wind up being hamsters running inside the hamster wheels (with the scenery changing once or twice a month via new brilliant event registry pages but basically the same tasks over and over again for green books and/or red books that might no longer be needed) ??

Several posts on this subject expressing hope for a new major version soon, possibly a re-launch?
Otherwise I agree, WU is becoming stale - there are plenty of suggestions on how to expand, extend and improve the WU experience
There will be a product roadmap and project plan with defined delivery dates which historically have been mid-month. Whilst some features were pre-announced ie adventure sync others were delivered unexpectedly, if this is the official forum then official announcements should appear here first - but if the audience resides elsewhere then it is understandable why Discord is used
I agree, now that I have completed my skill tree and begin to work on another, I'm feeling like our beloved game is due for an big expansion. I'm hoping we don't have to wait as long as our first anniversary to get it. I'm also thinking Niantic has a well developed roadmap for what's to come, short and long term. A small taste of what's to come for the dedicated community that we are I think would be wise on Niantic's part. Anticipation is the spice of life!
Thank you @kiheikid for this post. I can completely agree with everything you posted and find myself barely playing anymore. There is just a lack of excitement from me. The “monthly” calendar always come out around the 5th of the month. February had some great different events which I enjoyed.
But the majority of my pages are filed and gold prestiged so there isn’t much for me to do anymore. Minus of course the super rare pages/foundables like Pickett, swooping evil, Dumbledore, etc. The thought process behind null and voiding those pages will never ever make sense to me. So now we just wait for more pages to come out or foundables. But to release the same exact foundable this week also makes NO SENSE. Another emergency level threat that I see maybe once every three months.
Where are more lessons, more achievements, more SOS tasks, more fortresses just more. I know that a major release is coming but when? Why is there radio silence from Niantic? I think it would be good if they could give us some Idea of anything but the lack of transparency and communication is ultimately one of the largest issues here.
I love love love this game and have thoroughly enjoyed playing it. And I do sincerely hope that Niantic is able to add more content and fix some of these things. Two of my largest pet peeves are the following:
I hate that this post was a lot of negativity. I feel like it is important to let HPWU know how I am feeling as I know there have to be other people feeling the same way. This game has brought me a lot of joy and entertainment but the cons are starting to outweigh the pros.
i would also like to let folks on my friends list (still at 70+ even though a few of them have been sending those pesky basic ingredient giftboxes on multiple occasions) that — like @ClairabusGryff — i have barely played this past week.
consequently i have neither opened many giftboxes nor collected many giftboxes of my own to send out.
i have been playing bridge (again) almost every day and am getting hooked.
@HPWUTeam @hpwulola — just some feedback for y’all in this whole thread
@ClairabusGryff I find myself getting a bit bored too so I've been trying to go out 1-2 times a week to do some fortresses so it's not the same thing all the time at least. Starting to get on up there in my profession but still a good ways to go. I hope they change that group SOS task before I get to it though. As for the inns it's been happening to me too since the update and with the greenhouses too. So frustrating and no fix or update in sight as far as I can tell.
As began playing in August I still need 3 * 15 green books + 35 red to finish my professor studies. But I truly agree, HPWU needs an major update. I play the daily quest + any additional fortresses if I can anyway squeeze time for it. (as working family man - just can't sit by a fort endlessly)
I have been talking to my wife (who also plays a little) about quitting after I get my Professor studies done. So please do think and roll out something soon. Now many many players are waiting... (Remember many Aurors got their studies done a while ago already)
@kiheikid... You don't have any interest in Mastering all three Professions?
I started playing a little before Global Release, so I don't really count myself as a Beta Tester. I've dabbled a bit in the other two professions and while it has meant that I'm now short on scrolls, I know I'll earn more quickly before Green Books stockpile too much.
I'm currently P14, M8, A4, L34. I'm active, but I've had lulls in my activity.
I'm still enjoying Fortress Challenges mostly because of the people I play with.
I'm still enjoying the Brilliant Events partially because of the "gotta catch 'em all"/treasure hunt aspect, and partially because of the story.
Perhaps I'd feel differently if I was a much higher level than everyone around me - but that's not a concern in my area! 😂😜
@Razorgirl - at present, no interest in dabbling as either auror or magizoologist. it might be different for me if da missus and i live in an area with many other players with whom we could team up in fortress battles and form different combinations of professions playing together. but here it is just me (a prof) and da missus (an auror). the hamster wherl is still a hamster wheel, no matter the color (or in this case, the profession). i think it’s great for anyone who has that interest to become proficient in multiple professions ... just not for me (presently).
I must admit that playing the lower levels of the fortress as my baby magizoo (M9) is eye opening from playing as my Auror (14). Partially because of the fact that I just threw scrolls and green books at the magizoo, whereas the Auror I built up over time. So I know what my Auror is capable of, but I am clueless to what I can do with my magizoo!
So I started playing after game came out, but in June I was on vacation in remote place, so I couldn't even do daily challenge, when I got back interested in Ingress, so I stopped playing HPWU until September, when green Ingress players stopped playing and my area was blue for longer time...
So I had little pause, but I am catching up now, most of Wild foundables pages are either gold or getting there fast, so appeal of game is waning a little... If there were no events I would have probably stopped playing some time back...
So I think its time they bring new lessons (I started working on Professor tree since I have so many scrolls), new SOS tasks and some new foundables, we can collect...
If they don't do something soon, they will loose some of player base...
