10k Portkeys - Do they really exist?

I wanted to touch base with everyone here to see what recently has been your experience with 10km portkeys. I haven’t picked one up in close to a month now and the last one I did get and opened with completely under-whelming. If I recall I got like 8 bubotuber pus, 5 dittany, 3 Abraxan hair, 312 WXP, and 6 spell energy.


The overall rarity of 10km portkeys seems to have drastically decreased but more importantly the ingredients of these portkeys is not worth the silver key to open them. The 2km which is the one I pickup about 80% of the time are also hardly becoming worth opening. Today I opened one with 15 wizard XP yes, 15 WXP then misc regular map basic ingredients, and 1-2 spell energy.


I don’t expect 20k Wizarding XP, and 15-20 🍄🍄 and 20 spell energy per Portkey but as of lately the portkeys are just a complete waste to me.


I open 2-5 2km portkeys a day and I think that getting one 10km Portkey a week should be the norm.

    I've seen a good number of 10km Portmanteaus but others from my area have shared your observation a few months ago so here's what we did:

    • One at a time, we walked and opened all our Portmanteaus/Portkeys until we had maximum space for new ones.
    • We walked around as a group and once a Portmanteau popped up, we coordinated who picked it up.
      • If it was a 10km-Portmanteau, all others would follow suit (and share it in an unofficial chat - with time + location).
      • It it was a 2 or 5 km Portmanteau we would rotate who picked up the next one.
      • We continued until everyone had a full storage.
    • And we'd do that once a week. Works nicely with unlocking them via Adventure-Sync and Golden Keys - and being someone who just walks FAR TOO MUCH.

    It didn't get better for some time. These days, I am always surprised to see a 10km portmanteau. I often forget about them. And although the rewards are better than they were, I still think I get the best bang for my buck with 2km portmanteaus. They come way more often and they're quick to unlock. Rewards overall can be good if you hit the right combination when selecting wrackspurts. Often feels like a lottery.

    So within 10 minutes of posting this discussion I picked up a Portkey and what do you know - it was a 10km one! Talk about Murphy’s Law!! And that is a great idea @Lucoire !!


    And @ZookiTabooki i am starting to agree with you. I think overall the 2km ones give you more bang for your buck! I only use silver keys on 10km ones or during an event when we need to open a lot of them so I think I have like 30 silver keys.
