One of our local fortress was slightly moved (about 20 meters). As a result it transformed from fortress to inn. The spot is excellent for fortress battles and we would be greatly appreciate if it could be changed back to fortress. Is there any hope that it could be done?

There's little known about when a POI becomes a Fortress, Inn or Greenhouse. If it was moved back, there's no guarantee it will revert to its original Fortress state.
Out of curiosity: which region, and what is the name of the Inn? And in which direction did it move? It won't help you, but this might shed some light on the selection process..
