Compass / facing?

Sometimes my game will show my actual facing, like a compass; sometimes it will not.

I cannot figure out what makes this work/not work.

Anyone? Help?

That's determined by the "Map Camera Idle" option in the settings

turning off "map camera idle" allows you to go in and come out of trace, inns, GH, fortress facing the same direction. "map camera idle " on will always spin your compass to point north.

Nope. Right now, I can toggle map camera idle on or off, and it is still at the same fixed angle.

Earlier today, it was moving as I moved.

    Now it is fixed (non-rotating).

Changing this setting isn't doing anything as far as I can tell.

What else might be causing this?

The gyroscope/gps of your phone might be glitchy - as that's how the game determines "facing"

So while I don't know the cause of it, and it can "happen" without any changes in the settings (working fine in the park, drive home, it becomes fixed/non rotating), I have learned that a full shutdown and restart at least brings it back to working.

As in, go to the list of apps, and explicitly close down the old copy.

Thank you for this. The ridiculous spinning actually gave me vertigo sometimes. Happily no longer spinning around for no reason! 😁
