WU vs POGO Resource Comparison & Proposed Solutions
Pokemon GO:
> You have 3 types of resource you can gather so your stockpiles feel way more full.
> Resources are usually 1-2 on pretty much anything you can get what you can catch.
> Raids use only Potions/Revives/Raid Pass to participate. They GIVE you balls to try and catch the pokemon. Free resource
> Gyms grant resources.
> Daily quests are granted by how many stops you've gotten tasks from. So you can technically do 10x the amount of daily quests for XP & additional kinds of resources.
> The 'evolving' pokemon and 'powering up' pokemon is similar to prestige pages & talent trees in WU, but WU asks players for event resources that are super hard to get if your schedule doesn't allow you to play for 7 days regularly to get it.
Wizards Unite:
> You need 3-5 energy, a rune stone, and potions to do even a low level fortress. (minimum) Higher level fortresses need more than 10-20 energy and a party.
> No resources gained from fortresses, only XP & findables
> Inns are great in that they only grant the primary resource of energy, but 3-10 each still feels low.
> Findables are far more prevalent in WU than Pokemon spawns are in POGO, so you use more resources due to this as well
> WU spellcasting in general has been causing me to use anywhere between 2 or 3 to 10 energy just to get a findable sometimes at medium difficulty, which is a bit too much.
> WU Energy capacity even at max is FAR lower than the amount of Pokeballs you can stock up. I think my Energy max atm is somwhere around 165ish? I'm pretty much permanently below 25 or 10 atm. In POGO i've got bags that could hold 1100 resources across all of them, and 500 of it is generally Poke/Great/Ultra balls at any given time
> Resources are all packed in separate pay walls to expand the amount needed and distract players from the core gameplay of the findables. I need to figure out how to manage what is common/rare for potions and have space for them, Greenhouses feel completely like a half-baked and unfun minigame that is unnecessary.
Conclusion & proposed ideas:
-- Remove Greenhouses and growing seeds altogether & Convert Greenhouses to Inns.
-- Give Fortresses some way to reward Energy just by going there every 5 min like Inns.
-- Require only 1 energy per 'Encountered Enemy' in Fortress fights.
-- Require only 1-3 energy per Oddity encounter
-- Allow Energy capacity to double/triple whatever current amount players have purchased.
-- Double/Triple the purchased count of expansions on capacity.
-- Double/triple the amamount you can buy in the shop with Galleons.
Summary:
WU requires double to triple the amount of resources that POGO requires for core gameplay (spell energy vs pokeballs) and grants the ability to re-aquire it at the same rate. this is what needs readjusting
