oddities fortress fragments at Ruins chamber 5 ...

usually, i am trying to get horned serpent eggs HSE instead of centaur bows CB (because in my experience, HSE is more rare than CB).
however, because i am closer to prestiging oddities registry page 1 (just need to place werewolf and CB) at the moment, i actually set out to hunt for CB fragments today at the fortress, especially with werewolves featured now during full moon and again with the love is in the air event.
i had a great run at Ruins chamber 5 of a non-sponsored fortress, as follows:

no idea if i can come close to repeating this kind of success, but i’ll certainly try again next time

Wow @kiheikid , that's some great success.... I'll have to try your fortress! Mine is so very stingy with either fragment, sadly. Oh well, just need to grrrrind some more!

Thank you as always @kiheikid for the impeccable research as I am in the same boat as you. I need 40 CB fragments and am at 16/40. I do have 55 oddity runestones but 26 are level 4’s and I hate to waste those on level 5 ruins. But oh well. I am currently at silver level so one more time to prestige the page. Between the full moon and the crazy in love event I should be able to get my last werewolf fragments and prestige to gold. As long as I get 24 more CB fragments soon. I will try a sponsored fortress this weekend. Maholo!!!
@ClairabusGryff - happy hunting! i used up all my oddities runestones levels 4, 3, and 2 yesterday and today but it was worth it ... and i still have all my oddities level 5 runestones.
i started the day today with 35/40 CB fragments. it was raining a bit so i could not go into town and return to yesterday’s fortress. instead, just had to try my luck at (relatively) cra-ppy local non-sponsored fortress.
again, i played only at Ruins chamber-5 ...

Thanks, dude. I haven't visited the Ruins chambers since finally completing Books I/II/III in the Challenge registry, but your results look promising enough to give it a try. I only need four more Centaur Bow fragments to prestige Oddities I to gold, and it would be super cool if I could make that happen before Crazy in Love begins.
Oddities II is another story. The odds that I'll get all the Horned Serpent Eggs I need before Community Day are most definitely not in my favor.

Well, now that my comment has finally been approved over 24 hours later, it's no longer relevant. I didn't have very good luck at the first fortress I tried. Only received one Horned Serpent Egg out of five challenges in Ruins V. After running a few errands, I tried a different fortress at a nearby park, which was much more generous. I didn't stick with Ruins V this time, but instead played several different levels. Out of ten challenges, I received four Centaur Bows (enough to prestige the page to gold) and four more Horned Serpent Eggs. I'm pleased with the results, but I also remain convinced that there's no particular strategy that'll work best. Congrats on finishing yours, too. It's nice when you can set yourself up to make the most of upcoming events.
@kiheikid i played around ten levels today at a sponsored fortress at ruins level five and got one CB. I went to a different fortress and same results. Kihekid you and I always seem to have opposite results in fortresses. Oh well I will keep plugging away. But congrats on your fantastic results!!
sorry to hear,@ClairabusGryff ... wondering whether your being an auror and my being a professor is a factor. or just total randomness of this game results in our spinning our wheels looking for patterns and trends where there are only coincidences that cannot be duplicated. 🤷🏻♂️
I think it is all of the above @kiheikid but I will keep trying tomorrow!! I am at 19/40. I have a LONG way to go!!
