We need.... Apparition!

Hi all (and especially devs who I hope are listening in),

While I was replying to another 'I can't do the "complete 2 challenges with 3 teammates"-task' post, I thought of something:

What if the WU player was allowed to apparate into any fortress in the world, once in a while? It'll eliminate the 'force grouping' issue as people could then arrange their challenges online. It will also give solo players the opportunity to, once in a while, experience the joy of a strategic challenge with other players, and enable people to, for a short while, see foreign landmarks. All within the HP universe's storyline as 'apparition'. This could even create challenge groups online, who choose a fortress in the world to do monthly challenges. It'll introduce a new dimension into the game while solving some group problems. Also, more group-related tasks and features could then be introduced as it then won't be a problem to find other people. It could also be made so that certain fortresses get 'chosen' as temporary online host for worldwide players, which could cause players to flock to certain fortresses.

To protect the 'walk and excercise' philosophy of the Niantic games, this suggestion would need some rules, like only being able to apparate inside Fortresses, and only once every month/week/.. Or, have apparition granted from special *km portkeys as a reward for certain tasks or events, creating even more incentive to complete those. Or, collecting fragments of apparition power by doing challenges on your own (50 challenge-wins equals one apparition)?

I noticed Pokemon GO having a 'battle' system in which people can interact with each other from anywhere in the world. "Jurassic World Alive" has similar features in the form of shared spaces that alliance members can use from any location. Those games have gotten better, as you can now also play a portion of it while at home IF you saved up for it by walking. WU could use such a feature, I'm sure it'll even draw more players towards it.

Well? Huh? Huh?

It's a good idea. There was a similar idea proposed a month or two ago about using floo powder to travel to a remote fortress. Unfortunately, the search bar isn't working for me so I can't find the topic to link it for you.

I used the idea of remote participation for my Challenge Dungeons Idea too, so I'm not generally opposed.

But it needs some form of restriction to make sure that the incentive to build and strengthen a "local community" isn't diminished.

All that said, I'm against the idea of "apparation" as it conflicts with the idea of "augmented reality". Portmanteaus/Portkeys - which in HPWU are more like a pocket dimension that doesn't change your "real" location - are a better fit.

But hey, that's just arguing over the name of it, not being against the idea in general.

@MtPollux Thanks, found it in thread "SUGGESTION: CHALLENGE ACCESS". Yes, those ideas are very similar, someone even also incorporated portkeys in the suggestion.

"Remote Fortress Access".. Floo powder, venturing into unknown territory, apparition... I think there's a lot they could do. Hope someone's reading along.

I really like the idea of Floo Powder being able to bring people from your friends list in for Fortress battles. Particularly in these trying times, that would be a great and thematically appropriate solution to being a long way from other Wizards, or (recently) having gathering a group become a bad idea.
