Greenhouse disappeared from map
I noticed today that a local greenhouse (Newcastle Avenue School mural - Los Angeles) is no longer on my map, even after restarting the game several times. The mural artwork is still there, so I'm unsure why the greenhouse has disappeared from the game. Further... I was due to pick up my leaping toadstool after 24 hours of waiting, to no avail.

Waypoints (Fortresses, Inns, Greenhouses) aren't placed randomly. They follow certain rules.
Murals for example are a prime example for things that should be Waypoints. HOWEVER, Schools are "blacklisted" areas.
Would you mind providing more details as to the location itself? Is the Mural on the grounds of the School? What type of School is it, K12?
Thanks, Lucoire. The mural is at an elementary school (most of the schools in the area have artwork and are designated waypoints), but the mural is outside of the building. I guess I'm just confused as to why they would have allowed it in the first place, and are just now removing it.
Just noticed that another waypoint has disappeared from the map... a fortress, this time. And it wasn't anywhere near a school, rather, by some artwork at a public park and pool. Thoughts?
If you'd like more details what the logic behind "Waypoints" is, better check this article:
Other than what Lucoire is mentioning, other users have found certain POI's just disappear randomly and come back after a day or two. It is frustrating sometimes, and losing a crop of toadstools is totally lame. But maybe they'll come back soon?
Maybe, just maybe. Its from the previous niantic games, as they have optiont to request add or remove certain POI. And HPWU use the same data right?
I did check on the Intel map from "Ingress" (the game where most Wayspots originally came from) and there is no sign of a POI there, meaning it's gone from all Niantic games. The POIs called "Psychic Siddhartha" and "CHOdCES" are now the nearest in that area.
As was said, elementary schools are a Wayspot no-go zone (doesn't matter if it's on the outside of their wall) and it's most probably reported as invalid and got deleted as it should never have been there in the first place. Maybe it's a very old point, and the rules of POIs changed quite a bit.
As for the other POI, if you give its name and street address I can check if it's really gone, or moved too close to another POI.
If you see POIs disappearing, always restart the app. Sometimes roaming causes that (in my experience).
Any Ingress player can go into their community website and appeal the removal of a portal. Niantic has a second look at the case and might reinstate them if there's grounds to it.
(Just don't appeal murals on elementary schools which are invalid Wayspots. They're busy enough as it is.)
