Agreed! I can see what theyre for *when they are still locked*, but once unlocked I have no idea what it was for. An achievement date isn't very satisfying when I dont remember what the achievement was to begin with.
Same! I unlocked two achievements one with harry potter's face on one and the SOS Task Force on another. I can guess what the SOSTF one means but idk what the harry potter one is?? Anyone know?
The round Harry Potter badge is for Auror Lessons Mastered I, the pentagon Harry Potter is for Auror Lessons Mastered II, and the diamond in a square Harry Potter is for Auror Lessons Mastered III. I've unlocked the SOS one so I can't tell you the wording :(.
I totally agree with @Mantacat1 and others that it is frustrating that the text goes away when you unlock a badge, I have no idea what most of my badges were for. But now, seeing the pattern, I can guess that Professor McGonagall in a circle means Professor Lessons Mastered I and Hagrid in a circle means Magizoologist Lessons Mastered I -- I switched professions so have both. That's two of the 9 I have :)
I totally agree. I did find a reference guide for all the achievements that include badge icons along with earning requirements and I know it’s not ideal but it’s better than nothing. It won’t let me post the link but you can just google it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! I came here to post about this exact issue when I found this thread.
Fan-created reference guides are great, but Niantic should absolutely have the achievement description for earned badges. It would be much simpler and help us all feel really proud of our hard-earned achievements.
This seems like a design mistake, that I can't see what my own badges mean unless I happen to have a friend with the same badge that I can click on. :(
@Zakhi - They're talking about the badges in the ministry ID, I believe. There really should be a way to see what they are in-game (tap them and it gives all info).

@patronusloner3 your Harry Potter badge means you have learned a certain amount of auror skills on your skill tree

Agreed! I only see how a badge looks and guess what it is for and see when achieved, but be great to know what it is.
