Why dosen't the avatar walk when you walk?

Today,I was in a supermarket playing the game and I was walking but the avatar wasn't walking. I thought it was suppose to walk but it just stands in place? Is it suppose to do that? 🤷🏽‍♀️

    If you were in a supermarket, it's possible you weren't getting GPS signal. That's what bases your avatar's movement. So as far as the satellites were concerned, you weren't moving.
