January Community Day Strategy Guide

Hey everyone! 2020 has been off to an exciting start and it’s about to get even better because this year’s first Community Day is this weekend!! 😊This month’s event, which is Saturday, January 18th from 11am-2pm local time, will feature increased encounters with Foundables from the Room of Requirement IV Registry page and special appearances of The Whomping Willow, Foe Glass, and Weasley’s Flying Car. We’ve thrown together a list of tips to help all Witches and Wizards make the most of this epic three-hour event!
My favorite bonus is the reduced brew times and increased effectiveness for Exstimulo Potions. We saw this bonus during September’s Community Day and I know players will be excited to take advantage of this perk. With brew time being decreased by 50% and Master Notes being 50% more effective, the brew times for Exstimulo Potions during Community Day will look like this:
- Exstimulo Potion: 2 hours → 30 minutes
- Strong Exstimulo Potion: 4 hours → 1 hour
- Potent Exstimulo Potion: 8 hours → 2 hours
Begin your brewing right at the start of Community Day and you will be able to complete 2 Potent Exstimulo Potions during Community Day - this would normally take 16 hours! Here’s a list of the ingredients you will need for 2 Potent Exstimulo Potions:
- 12 Snowdrop
- 8 Bitterroot
- 4 Re’em Blood
- 2 Unicorn Hair
Of course, if you choose to use the Rental Cauldron, you can get even more! If you are hunting for Bitterroot, visit nearby Greenhouses to see if any players have recently planted it. You can also open up Portkeys to seek out any of these ingredients or ask your friends to send you Exstimulo Ingredient Gifts.
It’s also a great idea to have a few Brain Elixirs ready to consume during the event. With increased sightings of the Whomping Willow and Foe Glass, players will have a lot of opportunities to gain XP. Use Tonic for Trace Detection to further increase your chances of encountering these two Foundables. Also, remember that Dark Detector duration will be doubled during the event! Find a spot with a few Inns and place Dark Detectors for your fellow Witches and Wizards to enjoy during the event.
Check the Special Assignments to participate in Community Day exclusive tasks that will reward Wizard XP, Spell Books, and Gold. Lastly, don’t forget to collect your complimentary Community Day store bundle 🎁 from Diagon Alley and look out for Spell Energy⚡️on the Map. I hope everyone has a fun Community Day! Thank you! The brewing times were a brilliant addition! Since I had gold coins, I made sure to brew as much as possible. And I was excited to go up 70K points. It would be nice if during those 3 hours, greenhouses and inns reset much faster as well. :) Do we know when the next CD is?
good day to you all, is anyone else having trouble with the reduced brew time not working properly? I still have the common brewing time foot TTD AND extimulo elixirs. Never experienced it before though. 🙃
