Did they completely turn off notifications when I have received a gift from a friend? It used to pop up at the top (“PersonX sent you an essential runestone gift”). But now I get no notifications about gifts received at all. Is this intentional?
You are right, I think. I didn't notice until you mentioned it. Unless it's just a timing thing and I don't happen to be playing when they are sent, but it seems like they used to pop up the next time I played. I could be wrong though.
Yeah even if you weren’t playing when they were sent you at least got a notification next time you went on. It was helpful to know what types of gifts I was receiving (i.e. regular vs essential vs sponsored vs extravagant) without having to click on each gift box.
There were lots of complaints because the notifications were overwhelming at times, and the same ones would pop up every time you opened the game. I think they’re still fiddling with it. I saw a notification for a received gift pop up just yesterday or maybe the day before, and it was the first one I’d seen in days.
@Acumen Yeah I know what you mean about being overwhelmed by them. I would constantly get repeat notifications. Then one day they just stopped altogether. I would like some form of notification, even if it’s a summarized list or something. Otherwise like you said the only way you see it is if you’re playing the game at the exact time a gift is received.
I am so glad these notifications have gone! Between those and the progress notifications, I was finding the game almost unplayable. It takes a few seconds to click on my friends list and do a manual check. Much easier.
Maybe it would be possible for them to do this as a gameplay option for in game notifications? That way, I could turn them off, but people who like them could have them on. Probably too complicated in the coding, though.
