@ClairabusGryff - There is no need for contention IMHO. Where I have some knowledge I’m happy to share, it’s up to the recipient what they do with the knowledge. And I may learn something - in my business life I often find answers to unspoken questions just by listening to others before opening my mouth

I have just sat for 2 1/2 hours on a motorway due to an accident about a minute or less ahead of me. Road is closed and all vehicles have been turned around which is a first for me driving on the wrong side of the road
Unfortunately it looks like there has been a fatality
I have thought long and hard before writing this - but it is New Year’s Eve and good will to all men (gender inclusive, it’s a figure of speech) - the kicker is, at least one families life will never be the same again

Anything else is a shame & a waste of airtime. As @ClairabusGryff says it's just best avoided and ignored. It's not what the forum is for!
@Magpie31 you have my sincerest sympathy with your difficulties- at least with my just about useful achilles i can still get out- im truly grateful for that & had 3yrs at home which were very tough. I hope this year you can begin to call us on here firm friends who delight in your successes & truly empathise with you daily.
@OriginalCaruso such a powerful reminder of how precious life is, how much we should live every moment to the full & not waste a single second on things that are irrelevant!! May god bless that family & I dread to think of their suffering right now.

@OriginalCaruso, at least there is hope that a life lost will bring others closer together. It is against overwhelming odds that we are all alive at this time, on this Earth, in a vast universe that doesn't care whether we exist at all. But it's only for a moment, and that's what makes it so profoundly beautiful. I think if we all were to set aside some time each day to meditate on that, it would help to keep our inherently contentious ways in check.
Everyone here has powerful magic inside. You have the ability to create joy out of thin air where none is already present. You can do that. It's okay if you're not sure how. I'll bet you'll figure it out, because you're pretty remarkable, all of you. The tools you need are already in hand. Love is our most abundant resource and it's entirely renewable. Use it with reckless abandon. Throw it around all ****-nilly like. I promise you, no negative consequences will come of it.
Do not speak ill of others, neither directly nor vaguely, because this is a dangerous form of dark magic. It seeks out love and destroys it. It turns joy to sadness.
Love is powerful, but it is alive. Just like any other living thing, it will grow cold and wither if it is not protected and nurtured. It will take strength at times when I am naturally inclined to feel weak. Others will surely be better at it than I am, and for that I will be grateful. I will do my best.

Given that I live alone and can't get out much at the moment, I'm not especially loving the quiet. But I do like that there is an air of calm!
I watched Creed the other day and Sylvester Stallone AKA Rocky, said something that stuck with me:
