General gameplay suggestions
First off I do love the game. But it would be nice if we had different daily challenges rather than the same exact ones every day, particularly when it comes to dining at inns. I live in an apartment and am in a wheelchair so I can rarely go out to do inns, greenhouses, and fortresses. I really am enjoying the 12 tasks so I hope we get more assignments like this in the near future, and things I can do from my apartment. Second I wish it were easier for portkey km to be opened. It takes forever for distance to counted toward opening just one and I can only get around with my wheelchair, which takes even longer to obtain 3 km or more. Not only that but even with events it seems like you really only get the same foundables over and over, which gets boring after awhile. Again I love the game but half of it is either impossible for me to complete half the time or takes too long.

@CBG92 - I say this with as much love, kindness and support as possible so please do not take offence
Niantic games are predicated upon going to places, Ingress, PokemonGo and now WU and pretty much invented the genre
To make changes for those less able to travel IMHO would undermine the core of WU - the corollary would be to make WU less travel / distance orientated which could make the game less attractive
To give some context, I have walked over 3,000km playing Ingress, mostly around London but have visited Rome, Washington, Belfast, Dublin, Vienna, Frankfurt and several other cities in the U.K. I play WU because I hate the new Ingress interface and like the challenge of walking around to see new places
Sorry this may not be what you wanted to read as feedback, part of the attraction is seeing new places and having new experiences
I wish you well in playing WU to the fullest extent possible
@CBG92 [hugs] I know the feel. I can’t go out most days and hardly ever finish the daily achievements. There are a lot of things I can’t do and I know this is why I’m lagging behind my friends.
But having said that, these games are geo-location based games which mandates moving around. This means that do have to give some community days and tasks a miss, but without all that, it’ll be normal game like any other since video games were invented.
And like you said, I was extremely happy with the 12 tasks of Christmas because it is extended over a long period of time and I could do it at my own pace.
(About the daily tasks, it would take a whole lot of programming and effort and trouble to make the daily task differ from day to day, even if it’s not a schedule. I’ve resigned myself to sometimes only completing 2 of the tasks (pick an ingredient, brew a potion)
Its hard when you want to play, but everything seems against you and I don’t have a motivational thing to say here because I don’t know what to do myself. I don’t even qualify for a mobility aid.
@CBG92 - i hear you and support you, 100%. there will be individuals who disagree with you, but i hope you know that there also are those of us here who are of the same thinking as you. i am glad you spoke up!
tagging @hpwulola to increase the chances that she will see your comments in OP
There is no disagreement only statement of fact, WU is what it is, changing the game mechanics and core implementation would dilute the game experience for many players
Unfortunately there are some who for various legitimate reasons cannot take full advantage of WU, it’s not the game implementation or designers fault, simply that no game can be all things to all people
Don’t forget this is a commercial venture with the express aim of making money for Niantic and various license holders, I’ve outlined a few considerations in another thread
The bottom line is to enjoy as much as you can within the game framework as supplied but not expect this to change
@CBG92 - i hope you won’t feel discouraged by reply posts in your thread expressing a contrary point of view, or urging you to not expect change. please do speak up as you see fit. you do have support here. 👍🏼
Perfectly normal reply:
”I agree with you.” or “Here’s a different perspective.”
Super creepy reply:
”Don’t listen to other people. They don’t get you. Not like me. I totally get you. I care about you.”
Yikes. Look, I’m sure everyone here is a decent human being, capable of doing good and worthy of respect. However, it’s important to remember that being good never involves comparing ourselves to others. Just be cool. We can all share our ideas without taking jabs at others or trying to divide members of the forum into social classes. Let’s have a good year, and keep dark magic out of our threads.
@CBG92, nice to meet you. Have fun! Do what you can do, and let go of what you can’t. This is my approach, and it gets me through life with minimal stress. Still, I hope to see updates that’ll help make the game even better for you. Happy new year!
I do enjoy your contributions @Acumen, so very well put
I was rather hoping we would enter 2020 in a spirit of good will to all and without personal agendas, I must be kidding myself...
Man, you step away from the forums for a few weeks and wow... 👀
@MrSciGuy just thought I’d put my two cents in is all. Guess I didn’t expect some of the reactions lol. anyway, welcome back from this “newbie“
@CBG92 there are a few of us on this forum who are hindered in one way or another from playing the way the developers intended, so welcome! We have a few threads about different playing aspects from multiple points of view and I don't believe anyone on here is so adamant that there's only a single way to play. As someone who also can't finish dailies all the time I agree that it would be nice to have a mix of achievements, logistics get in the way of that. My current hope is that they release adventure sync before the year anniversary of the release so those of us who are challenged by mobility might get a little more bang for our buck in Portkey terms.
Best of luck to you!
@Bormacska thank you! I too am still patiently waiting to see if they add adventure sync or if we ever get an update. Fingers crossed before summer🤞🏻
Totally agree with what @Bormacska said. And I think we’re all very anxiously awaiting AdventureSync!
Welcome @CBG92!
