Level 35, I do Wizarding Challenges mostly by myself. What should I apply my hard earned red spell books to next? I still feel under powered and dangerous werewolves, death eaters, and dark wizards are tough.
Following, as this is my second profession! Also very excited to see what has to be said, as magizoologists seem to be the quietest of the community on their profession

@SnowXTC I feel your pain. I’d go with completing defence breach first, as it definitely helps against dark wizards and werewolves, but after that it’s your choice. I personally did defence breach, then proficiency and critical power. I’m doing both of those together but I prioritised proficiency power first when I got to the ones requiring 21 books. The proficiency may only help with Erklings and Acromantulas, but defeating them quicker means you have more time to deal with other foes, which helps.
I always find the werewolves and deatheaters take the longest. With maxed defence and a big stamina, you get there eventually, but it takes a while and is quite spell energy intensive.
In my case, I’m going to work on my stamina and maxing my power last. Not sure what I’ll do with the 25 book skills, as I like seeing a completed skill and critical power has one lesson left, but I prefer to do proficiency power first...let’s see. These are the skills I have left on my skill tree currently:
@Imaginatio my skill tree looks almost exactly to yours. I will complete my defense breach first then go from there. I have 9 lessons left to complete and I figure it should take me around 25-30 weeks to get all the red spell books necessary to complete the lesson plan.
Here's mine....and I'm not totally sure what my game strategy has been, was, or is. I thought trying to get to the bottom to use the Restricted Books should be a priority. I then maxed out my power since I play solo. I have been plotting to max out stamina next, but that seems to be okay for what I do. The new discussions I see make me think I should build up profincey and defense next instead. I haven't been much of a fortress player, though I feel like I have been doing that more now.
Oh...I probably shpuld mention I am a boderline hoarder in this game. I like to collect things until I can use the "mega amount" all at once. The number of silver keys and dectectors I have......even my 8 year old gasped and realized I have a lot.
@ManateeMomma - Makes sense to hoard keys and detectors for Events but not to hoard without a plan to use them - if we were able to gift or trade there would be reason to hoard
Typically I will use all availabledetectors and keys during an event, particularly if assignments require their use, and use en mass for a community day due to the short Event duration along with TFTD / Barrufio
@ClairabusGryff cool! That’s a long while, but as Magizoologists, we need a lot of red books📕... a lot 👀 We’ll get there though... eventually...
@ManateeMomma I didn’t have a strategy when I started off either, still don’t exactly have one. Just kind of went with the flow. In the beginning I wanted to complete each row of skills before moving forward. Then realised focus should be prioritised as well as the restricted book skills. Then the red book roadblock hit and I just started to go with the ones I thought would help the most. In between all of that I was doing some randomly as well, such as when I went for precision as I got annoyed with the erklings and pixies - by the way, they can still get on my nerves sometimes when they dodge too much😂
Best to just go with the ones you think will help you the most. You’ll get through all of them eventually.
Also, I understand the hoarding, though for me it’s just dark detectors, as I usually only use them during events or when they’re a part of a task. Silver keys on the other hand are a different story for me. I find them much harder to not use.
I am looking forward to another event where they offer 15 keys in a package. I bought 2 and wish I had bought more. They came in handy for this event. I rarely use dark detectors. I play rurally a lot and actually get a lot of foundables, when I use 3 dark detectors, I get maybe 4 higher level foundables, but the other foundables are less, even with a trace potion. Currently at 101 dark detectors and 433 potions. Yes I hoard. Hpwu, pogo, and Ingress.
So defense breach didn't seem to help much. I am half way to 3000 strategic spells. I will probably go for proficiency power when I get it, then critical cast. According to the spreadsheet we should focus on proficiency power before the critical cast and definitely before defense breach, but there is a note about playing in a group versus solo, but it's not explained well. Defense breach doesn't offer much gain though.
Time for a portal appeal on my ex couch portal and pray for a restore and a fortress so I can battle from the couch, bed, and hot tub.

I was thinking defense breach, critical, stamina, then repeat that x3, then work on proficiency power.
