Anyone Noticed Extravagant Gifts are SUPERFLUOUS Today?

I know I just downloaded all of the assets a few minutes ago but today so far I have received 7 Extravagant gifts in less then an hour at lunch (at an Inn). Yesterday I got 6. To put it in perspective, last weekend during CD and all of the playing I did, which was a ton, I didn't get a single solitary Extravagant gift. So I am hoping this is a preview of the 12 tasks/days of Christmas to come. Because everyone on my friends lists will be getting EXTRAVAGANT gifts from me! WooHoo Christmas has come early!🎄🎅

Now *that* would make me very happy: especially if I'll finally be able to dole out the extravagant runestone gifts which might grant my friends the much coveted red spell books!
@Punkyfins today I played 12 fortress battles and only received regular, run of the mill runestone gifts to give out. But the spell energy extravagant gifts were just a coming and a coming...woo ****!! 🤑
In that case that's what I'll go for! :)
I got an extravagant runestone gift just as the brilliant event started, which I immediately sent to the person I was fortressing with, in return for the one he got. (The first ever extravagant runestone gif5 I got too!) But I didn’t get any extravagant today and I did plenty of fortress battles... hmmm...
I really need ‘em spellbooks. Hope the 12 days of gift giving will be kind to me and my friends!
I think I have sent out around a dozen extravagant runestone gifts but if I recall correctly I have opened one of them. So hopefully tomorrow the extavagant runestones will drop more after the event starts and I will report back here tomorrow what I find out as I plan on **** and doing about 20 battles or so. I have received a lot of extravagant gifts over the last two days from new contacts, but don't have the opening capacity or gifts to reciprocate.
Hmmmmm. I've gone out today to collect gifts, but sadly I haven't seen much boost. I'll keep trying. Maybe I'll have better luck this evening.
@Punkyfins so far today I have collected around 20 gifts and 5 of them were extravagants in all 3 fields, SE, Rune,and Potion. So things are picking up I think at least. Last weekend, between Friday night and Sunday night I didn't get a single extravagant gift out of approximately 100 gifts so my numbers are picking up and maybe it is a geographical thing? I know the event starts in 2.5 hours and I am counting down the minutes. I am hoping it is like a 33% extravagant ratio with more goodies in the gifts like, gold, RED spell books, silver keys, or dark detectors, or maybe even potions. How awesome would that be!! Most importantly, I do hope the HPWU team allows us to open more gifts during this time frame of the event. Maybe double it to 20 gifts a day?
That would be *really* cool. Let's hope so. It'll start at eight here, so the second gift-collection round will have to be tomorrow. I hope to find time to do some serious fortress battling for some extravagant runestone gifts to send! :)

I also noticed an increase in extravagant gifts collected today. Since I rarely find them, I’m thrilled I can finally gift them to my very generous friends! 🎁🎁🎁

@Nanapatnh glad you have noticed the increased extravagant gifts. I am dying to find out the EXTRA gifts in our gifts from this event. I have sent out about a dozen or so.
Yay! Thank goodness we get a scroll- think I'm at about 2900 and really wanted to get into the 3000 club by xmas! 😂
If only we could open more than 10 gifts per day...sigh...

i have asked the question in several different threasds if during the event we would be allowed to open more then 10 gifts but I haven’t heard a word back ever. 😭😭

Awesome @kiheikid I just can’t tell which of my gifts to send out are the new ones. But I just sent out a ton so hopefully some friends got the new gifts.
@ClairabusGryff - i think as long as a giftbox was picked up and sent out during 12 Tasks period, it will provide the bonus reward when opened, even after 12 Tasks period is over. you already send out such awesome giftboxes, that i don’t mind whether they are older or newer ... just very thankful for sharing in your kokua and aloha.

Ahhh thank you @kiheikid you are too kind but I did watch HP movies most of the day so that made me feel better in my heart. But I had no energy so I never left my home today. And the gifting thing went down around 2pm so I didn’t get all my gifts in today. So sad cuz my bottleneck wasn’t bad enough already. Oh well I hope and pray the team fixes it tonight as well as I wake up feeling better tomorrow. Maholo my HP friend!
Oh and @kiheikid what I was asking is when the gifting in general will be ending. It started in November before Thanksgiving and I thought I had read it was for the Christmas season. So if that is true would gifting in general end on January 7, 2020? I know they said that the gifts would be ours forever so we will have the ability to open them at some point. Which since we have the ability to send 100 a day but only open 10 it created a bit of a bottleneck so it would take me like two weeks to get all my gifts opened. 🎁 Honestly I seriously hope that gifting never goes away as of course the gifts are nice and have really helped me as I really need more runes and that has and will remain my priority but what I love the most is the postcards from the POI’s across the world. That is so magical everyday to get to open. Lastly, gifting brought another level of player engagement to the game so I am so appreciative! I know it has been a bit of a nightmare for the HPWU team but hopefully the gifting will remain a permanent thing for us.
Also, are you able to see your friend list and send and receive presents?
@ClairabusGryff - i had not heard that gifting in general would end at all; i thought it was here to stay, and that just the current bonuses are temporarily available for giftboxes picked up and sent during 12 Tasks period. @hpwulola - would you be able to confirm whether the gifting feature, in general, is only temporary (and if so, what is the end date) ??
I don't have any official connection, but I haven't seen anything that says or suggests that all gifting will end at any point. It wouldn't make sense for them to develop and implement a feature as complicated as this and then take it away after 2 months.
Just using Pokemon Go as a guide, I'd suspect that gifting is a permanent addition to WU.
