any way around "team tasks"?

I play this game with my daughter. There really is no one else around that plays. On that note, and not trying to cheat or anything, does anyone know a way around doing tasks such as the infamous "complete 3 wizarding challenges with 3 teammates"?

With the big push for more SOS tasks coming, there is going to be a very large number of players that will NOT be able to move on and play those. If you read the posts here, you can tell this is not just a block for me, it is a big deal to a very large number of people.

Is there a "temporary" friend we can use to get through that one task, for example? Any other ideas?

Back when I reached this particular SOS task, I met up with a couple friends to do some challenges. We thought we needed four of us, when in fact you only need a total of three players. The task is just worded incorrectly. Anyway, since we thought we needed one more player, one friend brought her husband's iPad. She played both as herself on her phone, and on her husband's iPad with his account. Technically, I don't think this was a violation of the Terms of Service, since we hadn't created a false account or anything. Her husband simply wasn't available to come out with us at the time, so he offered up his device so she could play on his behalf as well as her own.

Perhaps this story might help you with your situation.

Thanks. I do agree that would not be a violation, but in my case it wont help. Since it is only myself and my daughter, we still need a third. We have just decided that we will never move beyond this and now just ignore the SOS stuff. Maybe someday we can get to a place where we could find a 3rd person, but until then I guess we will just forget it. :)

We still play the rest of the game, so no real issues with any other thing. :)

    Thanks again for the thought.

Sure thing, @MorganFoxdancer. It's true that it isn't worth worrying about for now, and hopefully they'll do something to accommodate the many players in similar situations whenever they do add more SOS tasks. I can't speak on Niantic's behalf, but I think they'll provide a work-around for this task when more tasks are added, because it benefits them to keep players engaged and progressing.
