Am I just being unlucky are are this months brilliant foundables particularly tricky to catch. I am lv39 but having to make numerous casts to try and catch the foundables and frequently fail with them disappearing on me. I am just glad I am not in a rural area where energy is scarce.

Really? I’m level 35 and I’ve been able catch them easily enough without even potions. Sometimes I use a normal exstimulo if they are giving me trouble and that works just fine. Brilliant foundables are always trickier than their normal counterparts. I remember the potions I wasted on the brilliant sorting hat, but these seem comparatively easier?

My my problem is that they seem to have reduced the frequency of appearance of brilliant foundables. Before, they used to be everywhere, not so much now. More gnome confoundables though, as announced, but still.

My my apartment is in a foundable dead zone, but usually I used to get a few brilliant foundables when. I’m home. But literally none spawned.

I can only hope that the notice of bad weather, it did snow, is the reason for the lack of them, so far. I'm noticing that when they do show up, they depart just as quickly.

They've proven difficult for me, too. I managed to place both images the first day, so the difficulty level isn't too outrageous, but yeah. So far, the depart rate has been at 50% or higher for me. Granted, I haven't been using potions, unless I have some left over from catching a rare Foundable. I don't see the point in using potions for Brilliant Foundables specifically, since they're so abundant and available for an entire week.

It's a bummer that they're more scarce for you due to the weather warning in effect, @Beckanai. Hopefully that'll sort itself out.

I just now finished brewing enough potion to complete the second set of tasks. Having to gather more Brilliant Foundables for the third and fourth sets of tasks will be a challenge, I'm sure. I'm not too worried about it though.

During the first few Brilliant Events, I felt compelled to burn through the tasks as quickly as possible, and would finish on the first or second day. Lately, I prefer to take my time so I still have a couple tasks to complete over the weekend. Mostly because my personal life is a lot busier during the Holiday Season, but also because the game feels less fun to me if I'm always racing to complete as much as I can as quickly as possible.

I'm level 33, and I'd say it's taking me an average of 3 to 4 casts per Brilliant foundable to catch them, and yes, I'm also seeing a greater than usual number of departing foundables (of all sorts, it's like they turned up the flee-factor for this event!)

Not as bad as the unicorn and sorting hat were for difficulty, but still quite heavy on the spell energy.

They definitely were eating my SE! I’ve reinstated the three strikes you’re out rule. We do have enough spawns where I live though, so that’s not an issue.

The flee rate has definitely been high recently

@Dogoutlaw I'm with you, three strikes I'm gone onto another foundable. If it's still there afterwards I might try once more, if not, I didn't lose my spell energy over just one brilliant. I find the second round usually gets them.

But we also need to consider that we are a lot stronger as players since that dreaded unicorn. Back then, I was probably only level 12 or something. Now I am level 32 and having issues. The bar is green but catching them, especially Hermione and Krum, is taking a lot of effort. And potions.

I am seeing a "depart rate" of at least 75% on any high or above traces and the low and medium are departing more frequently then they used to.

Making the game more frustrating and less fun to play, especially when you work to a fairly high level (38 for me) .

Why does the game always say things will be easier to over power as you achieve a higher level but they never really are?

I’ve noticed a lot of departings and overall taking more spell energy to defeat confoundables over the last few events. I like the idea of mixing up an easier confoundable with a more difficult one to keep things interesting. You could even put a high catch requirement on the easier confoundable- needing more fragments to place the image for the easy ones and that would still be fine/fun as it wasn’t such a pain to catch.
