I cannot schedule my life around greenhouses!

At the moment, the current system for growing plants is pretty terrible. The fact that you only have a 30 minute window to collect crops when they are done growing is pretty ridiculous. I cannot schedule my life around greenhouses. After getting feedback from other players, it appears that a majority of players are inconvenienced by the crop growing aspect of the game. I really hope there are efforts to change the current system. Maybe increase the time that the crop drops from 30 min to 2 hours? Maybe you can be awarded a certain amount of a crop if you contribute energy to it? This awarded crop can go straight to your inventory instead of picking it up. The more energy you contribute the more crop you can be awarded.
