Adding Friends should NOT be a need to do achievement for Special Assignments

I understand that part of the point of these games is to meet people...but that's only for some people. If they want to and can, great. But at no point should it be mandatory to do if you want to clear out the special assignments. It's one thing to have general achievement goals for adding friends but not in time sensitive and special assignments.

I mean, I feel you, but there's no reason why this task should hold you back.
Simply visit this category and grab anyone's friend code:

Or visit this thread which was created specifically for this event:

It only takes a moment to add someone, and you can remove them later if you prefer to keep your friends list fairly lean.
@Acumen If you are the only player wherever you live (or just want to play solo), you shouldn't have to join this forum/Twitter/Facebook/Discord just to be able to fulfill an in-game assignment by adding random people on the internet.
whooooosh!
did a point just whiz by ?!?! lol
well said, @DubiousAffairs
Yeah, but that's a silly point to try and make among people who are already here... interacting with others... on the forum.
I'm just trying to help a player get past this particular task using the easiest method available. As I stated in my original comment, I feel you, which means I agree with the sentiment that a person shouldn't have to make new friends if they don't want to.
This isn't a debate. I'm not attempting to score points on anyone, and I don't know why you would be. It's a little creepy and weird, honestly.
There's nothing helpful about restating an obvious point that's been stated here countless times. Most of us agree that the forced group play and tasks requiring us to make new friends are nice in theory, but not at all practical for all players. We get it. I just feel it's more productive to inform users of what they can do to get around these issues rather than shae my fist at the void. That's the role I choose to play in all aspects of daily life. We'll encounter certain problems, and often it's unfair that the problems even exist to begin with. Regardless, the problems do exist, and the best path forward is to choose the simplest and most effective solutions.
Also, it's a game. A silly mobile game that people can play for free. You're entitled to go ahead and express a disproportionate level of outrage and self-righteous indignation over this silly mobile game if you want to. That's your right. However, it is also my right to point and laugh at you for behaving in such a ridiculous way.
I believe their ideas behind this, is so that you're able to send gifts as well as receiving them, especially because it's a holiday event.
That does seem to be the reason, @Beckanai, and of course no one is missing the point that it's not cool to force it on players. It just is what it is though, and the easiest way around it is to add someone from this forum if you're unlikely to find a new local player to add. Every thread on this subject has to turn into a debate though, with a select few people acting as if they're sharing some profound truth that the rest of us are blind to. "It's not fair!" Yeah... thanks... we had no idea.
Well said @Acumen
