Safety Warnings

I'm getting pretty annoyed with safety warnings in the game. Not only am I constantly being warned not to drive while playing the game when it can't tell the difference between me moving in a vehicle or sitting on my bed, but now I am getting warnings about hazardous weather and foundables not coming up as much as normal because it snowed here (Minnesota).

Ok, first of all, this don't play while driving business is aggravating as heck. In the first case, if I AM driving while playing, which I do not do and recognize as STUPID, the warning that I am moving too fast only creates a further distraction. If I am NOT driving, because I am a passenger, or walking around the block at a leisurely pace, or sitting down and not moving at all (since the game cannot seem to tell the difference), then the warning is moot. Please, just drop it!

As to t he hazardous weather warning, what the heck!? You're going to make it harder for me to play the game by fewer foundables showing up because it snowed? Hello. This is Minnesota. It snows seven months out of the year. If I want to layer up and go tromp around in the snow to play, then I don't want less opportunities because Big Brother Niantic is micromanaging my play time. Want me to stay inside during whatever you think is hazardous weather? Fine. Make inns and fortresses accessible if I can see them on my map, and keep those foundables popping up. I will happily stay in my cozy living room sipping hot cocoa and play until my fingers fall off without ever stepping outside. Just a hint though. We live and work in the snow. We drive, walk, walk the dog, shop, run errands, pick up the kids, ski, snowshoe, etc. in the snow. If we didn't, we would not leave the house from November through April.

Seriously. I get it that the developers want the game to be safe to play. Please stop asking me to testify that I am not being an idiot every five minutes. A simple agreement to not be an idiot when I signup to play the game really is just fine.

I have a feeling April will see similar warnings here in Thailand (our summer). And I agree that the best way to discourage people from venturing outside in challenging weather conditions is to do the reverse of the TTD - more traces appear when you are stationary.

If at least the weather warnings had some detail about the situation...

This summer's heatwave was bad, and unusual. Warning accepted, but tell people to avoid the worst of the heat and remember to drink water. The vaguely stormy weather is pretty much a given. Warnings for places hundreds of kilometres away are mostly useless too. What's the point of using GPS ?
