It was recently announced that an exploit that allowed players to collect rewards over and over was finally patched. Nothing was said about any possible bans or repercussions, though. Thousands of players took advantage of this exploit and gained an unfair advantage. Some of those players wound up with hundreds of extra restricted skill books, which is a huge advantage, since they are only earned through events.
Is there any word on what will happen to all those that used the exploit? It required logging in to the same account on two phones at once, which is usually against most games TOS, so that alone should be bannable. Knowingly using the exploit over and over, for extra books, gold, and exp should result in a permanent ban.
It should be easy to see who used the exploit, by looking at the number of skill books and restricted skill books earned vs the possible amount earned from quest rewards and challenge rank.

I wholeheartedly agree with you that those people should be banned. Send a message. Otherwise they let it slide and other people try it in other ways.
Id not even heard of this!! I didnt know it was possible to do things like that, thought they'd have made it so you can't log into your account on 2 devices at the same time!
I think they definitely should look into it- to just leave it at theyve stopped the trick doesnt really discourage people who do this kind of thing to just find another way?
What makes you think that they didn't ban anyone?

@LeFayeofAlbion i know right!? Lol. This is first time ive 'gamed' really, and i had no idea you could do anything like that!
But then again- why would anyone want to? The whole game is laid out so you progress at the right rate. To me i feel ive earned the skills i have now in the fortress because ive worked my way up, with my level and books earned for classes matching, so ive had lots of practise in there.
I wouldnt want to get there quicker by finding ways round it cos thats all the fun of the game!! What makes it challenging and exciting when you get a chance to earn the books. So i really dont see the sense in it because surely it takes away all the enjoyment and sense of progression that the game is designed to make you feel.
In all walks of life some people want kudos without putting the effort in, gaming is no different unfortunately
However, the support team have the data and tools to identify cheats hopefully with a ban to follow
In the end, cheats only cheat themselves. I believe the journey is the reward
