2 separate fortress foundables to collect in same brilliant week is (too) difficult

from the comments posted by others so far, it looks like having both the brilliant adult hermione and the brilliant interdepartmental memos foundables be available solely through fortress challenges using the same brilliant runestone, is too much for many people ... runestones, spells, and time all are being wasted chasing after the one but not the other, while the event clock keeps ticking down

for future brilliant events, there should be one and only one brilliant foundable that is obtained exclusively via fortress challenge using the brilliant runestone

Agreed. I cannot get the last 2 Hermiones!! I was wondering if it had to do with a chamber level requirement, but it doesn't appear to be.

On the same token, it seems that certain ingredients become scarce when needed too.

@LittleLadyGrey Artificial scarcity ? In HPWU ? Surely that wouldn't happen.

And of course, guaranteed Fragments from Challenges should be the norm. (But then, that's fewer reasons to pay for stuff !)

Not only we have to find six fragments from two different foundables from the fortresses, but sometimes we don't get any event-related prizes at all:

These are the rewards from a fortress fight I did yesterday. Of course I used a Stronger United Runestone. As you see, not only there are no memos or Hermione, but there are no Event XPs either.

There was at least one more case yesterday in which I didn't get any event-specific rewards even though I fought in relatively high chambers (Tower IV and Tower V) and in one case I was even in a sponsored fortress. Instead every time I do a challenge with a Stronger United Runestone, I get some fragments of the 5 different crests (of the four houses and of Hogwarts itself). This is nice, of course, but it's not exactly what I want to see when I know I have limited time to collect the Brilliant Event foundables and unlimited time for everything else.

Is this a bug or is it supposed to be a feature? I'll do some more fights today and I can share my observations if there's a patter when I get event-related prizes and when not.

@ElisaWilson i wish it were a bug because then there might be hope for a fix. instead, i fear that this all is working exactly according to poorly designed plan ... without regard to unreasonable burden placed on the players.

@ElisaWilson this is the way fortress battles have always worked. When you choose your runestone you have a chance to get a fragment and some family xp based on the type of rune you select, but it's not guaranteed.

On the bright side, there is no rush to place all of the brilliant fragments during the event. Just collect as many brilliant runes as you can during the event. You can still use them afterwards to get fragments for Hermione and the memos.

@MtPollux unfortunately the last sentence in your comment may not be entirely true. If it's going by the same principle as the previous brilliant events, after this one is over the runestones will only give foundables from the first week of the event. There was even a separate topic here recently, where we discussed this problem in connection with Back to Hogwarts.

Thanks for the information in the rest of your post though. I was under the impression that one always receives family xps when playing in a fortress and from time to time one gets an extra fragment from it as well.

@ElisaWilson is correct ... i still play old brilliant event runestones on days i cannot get out to better fortresses and have to play the nearby fortress with bad cell signal, so i don’t want to risk losing good runestones there. those old brilliant event runestones now invariably return only the week 1 fragment, not the week 2 fragment. statistically inconsistent with what the HPWU party line states about how these brilliant runestones should work.

Any advice on finding Hermione fragments for this one? All I keep getting are brilliant memos or nothing at all.

Hmm, I guess I stand corrected. So far I haven't missed filling in any of the event pages, so I apparently never noticed about the old event runes. Sorry for the bad info.

@MrSciGuy - my sweet spot for hermione was at tower chambers 1, 2, and 3 but it took me 5 tries

@kiheikid Thanks. I was between ruins 5 and tower 2 today and all I got were memos or nothing. Did about 8 challenges. This is ridiculous! I’ll try tower 3 tomorrow.

I did a challenge last night using a fighting forces runestone, and I was rewarded with a fragment from the Order of the Phoenix photo. This was the week 2 item, not the week 1 item. It seems that maybe the mechanic for previous event runes may have changed. There is hope for those who don't manage to finish both Hermione and the memos in the next few days.

Thanks @MtPollux, good to know. I ended up randomly finding Hermione in Ruins 2 of all places. Needed to knock a quick battle out before midnight. What a surprise.

I’m beyond frustrated with the hermione drop rate. I’ve used up 14 runestones (all my remaining ones) and now have none left. I have two hermione still to get. I’ve completed everything but the last extra challenges so am having to waste spell energy collecting Foundables I already have to scrape together a couple more runestones. It’s a joke.

@MtPollux I just wanted to share a similar experience when I read your post. Apparently I clicked the wrong runestone and after the fight I got a fragment from the second week of Potter's Calamity. It was the last fragment I needed and it completed not only the item itself but the whole page so it was a triple pleasant surprise.

It was easy for me get the 2 different foundables. Maybe was just luck.

That's all it is, @Vestigious. I've also been fortunate, able to collect all required fragments with ten runestones or less during any of the Brilliant events. My time will come though, and when it does, I'll be prepared... with snacks.

@ElisaWilson - like finding a broken off piece of a candy bar or cookie stuck in the fold of your shirt, after you had thought the snack finished and none left ... the gift that keeps on giving!

hope everyone was able to collect all fragments needed to place both brilliant Interdepartmental Flock of Memos AND brilliant adult Hermione.

if not, don’t give up, as long as you still have stronger united brilliant runestones ... but do let the HWPU team know your opinion/experience as a result of their decision to make two foundables dependent on fortress challenges in the same part/week of the brilliant event. let’s hope they get the message and do NOT repeat this feature.

Wow. Took me 43 runes but I got them both. That was a solid challenge.
