Can someone advise us on which would be more effective in a Fortress Battle? An rank 11 Auror at level 34 or a rank 8 Auror at level 40?
In the fortress, your Wizarding level doesn’t mean much, if anything. Your profession rank is the most pertinent as it’s an indicator of how far you are in your skill tree. The Auror 11 will probably fair better than the auror 8.

Success depends upon Charm and Hex proficiencies as well as general profession proficiencies ie Stamina, Defence etc
A Level 11 Auror therefore will have higher capability than a Level 8 Auror and should be preferred
However, tower success will largely be dependent upon the mix of creatures encountered noting Aurora are vulnerable to Pixies and Werewolves
And the beasts... Acros and Erklings in particular are the Aurors weakness.
