In Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, a mysterious event called the Calamity has unfolded, leaving traces of magic called Foundables all over the Muggle world. Members of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force need to not only try and stop the Calamity, but figure out why it occurred. With that said, what have we learned from Chapter 1?

  1. Five people, euphemistically known as the “London Five,” disappeared without a trace several years ago. Nothing concrete is known about what happened to the London Five. Their disappearance was a massive story in the wizarding world, but the fate of the five remains shrouded in mystery.
  2. One of the missing London Five is Penelope Fawley, wife of Grim Fawley. No one was hit harder by the London Five case than Grim Fawley, an Unspeakable working in the Ministry’s Department of Mysteries. His wife’s disappearance appeared to devastate him. We learn from colleagues that he grew dark and humorless, and wore Penelope’s beloved Slytherin scarf every day - even during the summer.
  3. Grim used his access as an Unspeakable to try and find a spell to find Penelope. He researched powerful spells in remote places, such as a highly restricted library in Prague, for example. Ancient tomes are missing whole sections. A lot of his research focused around the notion of love. He even spent an inordinate amount of time in the Department of Mystery’s Love Room; so much so he received a reprimand from Gareth Greengrass for it.
  4. The spell that caused the Calamity was very old and quite probably illegal. Most of the material surrounding the spell itself is classified, hidden or illegal to even view. Grim’s notes reveal he was trying to leverage several old, restricted and possibly illegal spells. There were newspaper reports of a spell used to commit a murder that Grim seemed interested in, as well as signs that Grim may have been behind a stolen tome in Prague.
  5. Grim is strongly suspected of having caused the Calamity after suspicious activity seems to be linked back to him. Grim’s behavior after Penelope’s disappearance, along with his interests in illegal spells marked him as the likely source for the Calamity. The spell - which brings out that which is coveted by those within the wizarding world - matches the research he was doing. His status as an Unspeakable implies that he is capable of casting the spell and his subsequent disappearance makes his guilt likely indeed.

There is a lot missing from this! Penelope is the daughter of a death eater. Grim lost his parents in the war. Grim and Penelope had 2 kids that Grim didn't want growing up like he did. I could go on and on!

Of all the daily prophet covers why the one about Snape being headmaster? How and why is that related to the calamity.

Also is the azkaban prisoner the murderer mentioned in #4?

Is the death eather one of Penelope's parents?

And thanks to @LeFayeofAlbion the one thing we know for certain is @HPWULola is Constance Pickering!

His apparent guilt makes him such an obvious choice that I have already written him off as unlikely...now is there someone that stands to gain by highlighting his possible guilt ?...and is the whole thing a cover for something else that's brewing...

@ELEUTHERIA oooh so Grim is the red herring?! Are Penelope's parents still living? What if its one of them? and they are framing Grim because they never approved of Grim and then...Grim couldn't or didn't protect her?

Or is Penelope in real trouble? She was forced to participate in the calamity and she used it to leave clues so Grim would find her and stop the calamity

I feel like "the lost 5" are not lost but under cover. We will most likely find out about all of them and find them over the 10 year plot line. I also feel like Grimm is a victim; however, I think what he was experimenting with to find Penelope backfired and brought out all the strongly-emotionally-connected traces out. He added or developed the Calamity unintentionally. I suspect Constance is involved. Come to think of it, Malfoys will be also. One of theirs might be part of "the lost 5."

Lol! @ManateeMomma best theory yet! So is Constance in on the calamity or is she the undercovers handler?
