what are your rituals/superstitions before capturing foundable you really want ?

they can be founded in logic or totally illogical, doesn’t matter as long as you put belief or faith or “what the heck, it can’t hurt?” into it

mine is that, while i am holding iphone in my left hand and after i use my right index finger to trace the glyph, i will quickly use my right hand to form a protective cup over the top right corner of my iphone, as if i were protecting a lit match from the wind

it started when, one day outside the building that is my local fortress and where i find some pretty good higher-threat-level, rarer foundables, it was quite windy. on those windy days, the quality of the cell service outdoors seems particularly crappy, so i was afraid the trace encounter would fail in the middle of my trying to catch the foundable.

that first time, i think it was the mirror of erised. and i was surprised that i was successful. so i started to do it more often, and now to the point that i even do it indoors ...

... even occasionally when i am, ahem, sitting on the royal throne in the throne room, about to pass a royal decree ... in my defense, it can get pretty windy there
