Community day report from Brazil
You guys all did so amazing! So, I should have done this before, especially since people in my playing group totally asked me to be their voice (since they don't post in the forum), but I've been super busy this month (it's low key killing me... lol. As the Daft Punk song says: Our work is never over) so here's my report, finally! Lol
Overall: I absolutely loved the event. It was a ton of fun and it was nice spending it with my group (even though this time around, only two others were able to make it).
The biggest problems: As some of you know, Brazil had the time wrong. The event started and hour early and ended and hour early. BUT, the actual notification pop-ups came around during the "announced times". So we were told the event started at 11 and "it's ending" towards two... The only reason I didn't miss out fully on that first hour.. was because a friend happened to be playing at 10:10, and noticed the in game change... so he warned everyone (I still missed a good chunk though because I saw his message a little late).
This messed up a bunch of things, as I had scheduled, planted and maxed green houses with mushrooms, and they completely missed their marks.
Another let down was not getting extra energy from anywhere. We were at the park in a spot where there's plenty of amazing inns all huddled together, but they were still only giving about 3 energy each. I thought either they'd change it this time around like it was done in the past, or they'd add the loose energy that could be found on the map. I have 145 cap on energy and I often found myself as low as 50, which is technically not bad, but I agree with someone else who said that, if this was hard on experienced players, imagine how hard it was on newbies.
Oddity pages and the prestige: At one point, my group and I sat down and we did, I think, about 12 or more fortress battles to try and get the centaur bow. I was down to my very last two oddity runes when I finally managed to get the 10th bow I needed. I've been playing this game since day one and it took me 2 months to ever even find that bow for the first time. Glad I was finally able to prestige that page, but yikes... I feel like the event would have been kind of useless if I hadn't been able to get those 3 final bows I needed for it. (and when I say useless, I mean that getting EXP is great and all, but page prestige IS a thing and I think a lot of us welcome that, but become frustrated when its made impossible to do because of a single item that never shows up).
Also, as I posted elsewhere, the fortress also ate one of my runes. So Wow, the game really pushed me on the edge by me getting my last centaur bow with the second to last rune ^^;;
Not so much a problem, but a question: I saw people catching dragons during this event. I haven't heard anyone from Brazil be able to catch a dragon during this or the brilliant event yet. Kind of wish this was a thing here too. Especially since the weather (in my town at least) has been perfect for dragons.
I'm trying to think if there's more... but I think that's it! I'll ask the other players if they have anything to add, and if they do I'll just add to it later.
I really do love the game, and I get that sometimes things can go wrong for one thing or another, but I do hope our voices are heard and and that certain things perhaps become common practice, like giving us energy we can pick up from the map again :)
Thanks!
-PS: Ah yeah, and someone else from Brazil said that the store bundles never appeared. I suspect it was because they tried getting it after the event was "unofficially over", as in, during the "final hour" that never was :/

Agree, and some points apply to players elsewhere as well. I REALLY hope the HPWU team makes the timing snafu right with you all. Thankfully I didn't have any issues here, but given the reports I had seen, I was on playing beforehand and waited until I saw those purple traces pop up before I started anything, just in case! I'm hopeful that there were lessons learned with this event to help them program future similar events better. A lot of prep goes into events like this on the players side (assuming we know about it in advance, but that's another topic), and to not have the game keep up its end of the bargain is a bit of a let down. Glad you were still able to enjoy the event as it was!
