I love Harry potter. Wizards Unite is becomming an ever increasing number of missed events solely due to the lack of communication in game and even the forum. Dragon Event... missed it Portkey event for eggs... missed it... Community Day... missed the last 2! Im especially miffed about the last one because i was on the forum last week looking at announcements and saw NOTHING! ****!! I dont have s group of friends that all play like i do in pokemon go and missing these events isnt helping!

There is a brilliant event coming up (you can see that in game as it is a story related event).
There is also an event that has been announced all day on Halloween 10/31. Try to collect and hold onto as many dark arts runes as possible for that event.
we all know that better in-game communication is the way to go, because it literally is the ONLY thing all hpwu players have in common
folks should not assume that players have access or even know about this forum or various social media platforms

@kiheikid I was not saying communication could not be improved. @Ishkabod was stating that he was specifically looking at the forum announcements and did not see them. I was providing the various points of communication which were used for the previous community day so that he would know where to look in the future until the in game communication improves.
i understand and glad we all can agree on need for improvement of announcements, both as to when and where
the sooner that in-game announcements are made available (and not pop-up messages that are easily missed or dismissed by accident; i mean semi-permanent announcements that are posted (like the brilliant event announcements, only with earlier advanced warning) and stay available until the event is over), the sooner that this kind of discussion, re the sufficiency/insufficiency of notifications on this forum or in social media that reach less than 100% of players, becomes moot
the “special” tab would be a great place for notifications in-game re both special assignments AND special events ... trick is to just make sure the hpwu team posts heads-up early enough
for example, it would be great if halloween event notice were already posted there!!!
I totally agree about notifications for events is surely lacking.
I don't believe it's Niantics fault as they do good notifications in Pogo. I have the next Pogo CD marked in my calendar for 16 November and they have also announced that it's Chimchar.
My phone will now give me notifications, problem solved. Yet we have an earlier event (Halloween) and we have to no idea how to prepare for it except save dark arts runes. We don't know if it will be a 3 hour event, a daily or multi day event.
Heck, most of us outsìde the US need to Google when Halloween is as it's not even a thing here!
I am retired so likely able to participate in the event but many do not have hours as flexible as mine.
That takes my mind back to the dragon egg portmanteau event. Other regions were in playing on Sunday/Monday. Many have to work on Monday and the Sunday was Fathers Day in Au and NZ.
To summarise, we need advance notification so that we may plan our new lives around a game if that is your idea of a good life. Horses for courses and all that stuff.
@WerewolfChaser totally agree. I posted a thread due to the lack of expressing a time and that day being a normal workday, schooldays, and trick or treat for the community. @HPWULola stated that it was an all day event on 10/31.
I learned a lot from this post, so thanks for the commentaries. I was also wondering how can I find the community in my city for this types of events? currently I only have my friends who have joined the hunt :) but I think it would be more fun with the community

@WerewolfChaser I’ve seen rumors it will be 48 hours, 10/30-11/1, based on Pacific time. So the wee hours of 10/31-11/2 for you. Sort of like the Fan Fest weekend.
Yeah, we really need them to be able to do better with in app announcements. I'm a twitter person and even that isn't too helpful since I follow a lot of people, and it takes time to be able to sort through and find the game announcements. Sometimes I find them hours later because I get like 500 tweets to browse through every 4 hours. It's kind of insane 😅
Ishkabod... I can relate to your frustration...until I discovered "Dischord "and get the info from that as well as chance readings of articles on Google I too was clueless until the last moment. Even now I was trolling articles hoping to see some info on the new brilliant event tasks. And I saw this instead. I do not Twitter nor do I wish to. Hash tag too busy for every social platform. I don't have friends that play that can clue me in . The next event starts tomorrow . 1100 am Pacific time for me. Good luck.
