Question about casting difficulty

Genuine curiosity, not a complaint. Was it made more difficult to get masterful casts or did I just get worse at it? Both are possible so wondering if anything was altered in the mechanics.
I got pretty good at a couple spells and am at 99/100 masterful on achievement. Just have not been able to get that last one. Hehe.

@Craeft I just completed my 500 masterful cast achievement. But I understand where you’re coming from. Those pesky crucial points (red dots when you miss) that must be hit on the trace seem to be in random spots. Sometimes I cast what appears to nearly perfectly follow the trace and do so rather quickly, but the meter doesn’t even budge from “good.” It’s weird and seems to have a mind of its own. But overall speed seems more important followed by a decent level of accuracy.
@Craeft I spose this is a bit of a non-answer sorry! But hubby started long after me, about probs s month ago. I can never seem to get the masterful- it goes top line green & some evil spring holds it there I'm sure.
But since he started, in a matter of weeks he got his 100 masterful achievement!! So if that helps? The mechanic must be still there & he's a whizz at them. But if they've changed a bit that could be why you're struggling with your usual technique.
But he's flown thru them so it's defo a case of getting the pattern down then repeating it like a demon is a clear winner! Lol
This is something I've been working on for a while now too. I have found that when I wear my touchscreen gloves I have a better chance of getting a masterful cast. It may be the lack of circulation in my hands though!
I was thinking the same thing lately, but I also thought that it might just be me not keeping in practice.
During the Potter brilliant event I got good at getting masterful on expecto patronus (with quidditch Harry) and meteolojinx recanto (Hedwig). For a while I was getting masterfuls left and right with these two, now I think I've gotten 1 or 2 in the past week.
Out of curiosity, which spell? I might be crazy, but I think aguamenti spun just a little anti-clockwise. It looks a little different to me, and definitely feels different.
@Dogoutlaw Aguamenti was one of them that I would cast masterful probably close to 85% of the time. Got really good at that one, that's what shot my masterful numbers up. The other was... ummm... err... I see the pattern in my head but can't remember the spell name. But both of them have not given masterful (no matter how well I cast it) in a rather long time. Which is why I'm curious if we had a ninja nerf on masterful casts.

On my old phone, I got a few masterfuls but none since I bought my new phone a couple of montha ago. I assumed it was because of different sensitivity in the screens (and I can't do the "cheat" way on this phone either). But sounds like it could be a general thing?
@Craeft I see it now. Honest to goodness, I think Aguamenti changed. I was really consistent with my cast on that one, and realized I was trying to cast it at a different angle than it is now. Not sure on other spells right now tho.
So I realize this is a few weeks old, but I cannot seem to manage masterful casts since leveling past 31. I'm wondering if this was a set thing or if the cold weather has tightened my joints to that of a hag! 😂. Have you guys managed to get back on track with your casting work again?
@Bormacska I'm 26 and noticed not only less masterful casts, but casts that were one shots previously are now resisted consistently. I think there was a ninja nerf.
@Craeft I will go with that. Anything that doesn't make me feel older than I am! 😅
@MtPollux those are the 2 casts that ive got my masterful ones in too. They seem easier for me. My worst is the one i call 'star trek' as in 'oh no not the star trek one' and exit that foundable if I don't need it lol! Such a coward! Whatever its called that gets the student/ministry guy etc out of the ice.
But got the other 2 nailed & that one- i think 'finite' the x with a line down right hand side- so xl looking one i get top line great but that evil spring always stops me 😂
