Auror Lesson Plans
I’m about halfway through on my auror lesson plans and am close to getting more red books (and hopefully green ones too in part II of FF). What should I focus on first to have the biggest impact on abilities? I’ve read that they are hard to come by 😬☠️ 📚

@LadyRedIII This is a loaded question you walked into hehehe. The best way for me to help answer is to know how frequently you can do Fortresses in a group with other people and what their professions are. If you are always solo the answer is radically different.
Ginnungagap - I know there has to be another local player (because I keep finding greenhouses growing stuff and yesterday I saw a dark detector being used) but I haven’t stalked them down yet 😅 so I am definitely a solo player at the moment until I can find other wizards. And hubby won’t let me put the app on his phone 😂 I did try that.
@LadyRedIII The dynamics really shift with group play. So if you can I would recommend it. In the meantime as an Auror, you can never go wrong to focus on power (wand icon) and precision (eye icon) (not to be confused with accuracy!) I would suggest taking a look at the map or searching here https://community.harrypotterwizardsunite.com/en/categories/local-groups-and-events and seeing if someone has posted for your area.
@LadyRedIII just in case this helps, when you see a dark detector, you can see their name if you visit the inn. You might know this already, but just in case. Then you can try searching for them here, see if you can find them. It's hard to find others in app.
Dogoutlaw - ohhh I didn’t know that! Where does it show inside the inn??
Ginnungagap- I did check the map and didn’t find anything for my area. I’m hoping to make a post of my own in a couple days when my account is allowed to tag or post links (apparently adding a local event to the map is considered posting a link). 😄
@LadyRedIII when you go into the inn, look at the bottom of the screen. I can't remember the labels, but there is a right tab for dark detectors. That's how you would add one of your own if you wished. If one is already active, it will show there with the players handle next to it. Same as if someone else were to visit an inn where you've placed one, they would be able to see your handle.
Thanks again dogoutlaw! 😄
@Ginnungagap here is where I am at so far. (Yay I can post pics FINALLY and tag too!) you can see how many books and scrolls I have that I can use to do more lessons and which ones I can do atm which ones should I focus on? You said something about the eye and wand icons but which wand icons? I see several different ones?
@LadyRedIII Proficiency, power, and proficiency power. First with scrolls. Then use books on proficiency and then power. When you can also increase critical damage with scrolls.
@LadyRedIII focus on gaining more power and critical power. I’ve found the confusion hex (with restricted section books) useful too.
And the weakening hex (the broken wand) reduces the foes power, so it’s pretty good too.
Go to your expertise tab, see what you need the most and proceed along the branches to get it. Don’t waste spell books on things like defence breach so soon as you’ll need plenty of spellbooks later (I’m stuck in a bottleneck and don’t have enough spellbooks and have even completed the achievements that reward you spellbooks)
An auror’s stamina is much less compared to the other professions. It vexed me at first and I used up books to max out my stamina, but it doesn’t make much of a difference. I played solo for a long time and still play solo a lot, so it might use up healing potions, but since I found a group, I find that I am more useful as an Auror when I do more damage and the magizoologist can always heal or revive me.
Solo or group, I say aim for power. But that’s just my opinion.
@LadyRedIII @LeFayeofAlbion learned the hard way. Aurora will always be squishy. We max out at 39% defense vs professors as 79% for instance. Weakness hex helps make up for this by reducing enemy power by up to half, but that would only approximate the damage another class would take, while they also have significantly more stamina. Aurors have to **** fast to survive. That is where the importance of that first hit critical comes in for one of our specialties. We require those critical hits to do damage. However critical hits are a multiplier of your base which is why power comes before critical power. Confusion hex is great, but not as useful until higher in the tower. Getting it to 40% will nullify defence, defence breach, and dodge against all foes that are not 5 stars.
Happy hunting!
Thank you @Ginnungagap and @LeFayeofAlbion 😄📚📝
