There are several discussion on Red books already so I won’t rehash them here, though I do foresee another problem ahead with Green books
Whilst Red books can be acquired with enough Fortress runs, Green books are a different matter. I am approaching the last Professor lessons and will get stuck on acquiring Green books. I think this will be a bigger problem than acquiring Red books in the fullness of time as I anticipate competing all Red book requirements far sooner than I am able to acquire the Green books to finish the lesson plan
What a paradox, Red books are an issue, Green books look to be a bigger issue, but I may be able to stock up Red books in the mean time...

@OriginalCaruso what Challenge rank are you at? Professors do need more than 100 fewer books. Each of those ranks for the other profession would be over rank 150+ which means 50*3770 = 188500. That is the minimum additional challenge xp needed by the other professions. Perhaps in the next lesson plans, professors will need more red books and the other professions more green books.

@OriginalCaruso Perfect. With that information I can do some of the hidden math which will help you see our torment. To get to rank 104 (which you aren't at yet) requires 80440 challenge xp. To get to rank 150 requires 226950 challenge xp. As a professor that is about all you need, however, that is almost DOUBLE the amount of challenge xp you have attained so far. Professors need 223 green books and you need 106 which means less than half. At this rate, you will still get all your green books before you get your red spell books. Therein lies the torment we have felt lol.
@Ginnungagap - Thanks for the input, I neglected to say I bought the two packs for the Fighting Forces event which gave me 6 Red books plus the 1 Red book in the freebie pack. We don’t know whether future packs will contain books but at the moment I need at least 97 Red books of which I have 20
The unknown are lessons for which the number of Red / Green books are undisclosed as I haven’t unlocked preceding lessons
I'll add my 2 cents.
All professions should have the same consumables requirement.
Correction - I need at least 127 Red books, I miscounted
