A week is plenty of time to finish all the tasks, even if you're not prepared. Since most Brilliant Events involve a couple time consuming tasks, like opening portkeys and brewing potions, most players will take some or all of these steps to be ready:
Clear out your portkey slots to make room for Brilliant portmanteaus. The event tasks will generally include opening one or more Brilliant portkeys, plus there will usually be five image fragments you'll need to collect for the event registry page that are only available in portkeys. As you may already know, you can't tell what type of portmanteau you're picking up on the map, so not every one will be a Brilliant. Don't get frustrated. If you pick up 8 portmanteaus and only three of them are Brilliants, just walk it off and pick up some more.
Have some potions completed, but don't tap to add them to your inventory yet. When you reach a task that requires you to brew X number of potions, you've got some ready. If you're not prepared with completed potions, it's not a big deal. Just brew some 2-hour potions like basic exstimulo or healing potion. (Spoiler: You'll need to use some healing potions in one of the tasks during this event, so may as well brew some of those.)
Fortress Challenges are also common tasks. Use the appropriate Brilliant Family runestone to enter the challenge. You'll need to use those to be awarded image fragments for the event registry. Just like with any other runestone, you won't get the reward you're looking for every time, but don't get frustrated here either. It's generally pretty easy to rank up the event family registry by collecting Brilliant Foundables, so you'll have a dozen or more runestones to burn through.

Well, it appears the Brilliant Portmanteaus are discernible this time, which is pretty darn cool.
@Acumen Yep, I got a few of them and it’s cool that we can finally see if we’re picking up one of the normal Portmanteaus or a Brilliant one.
