I have high hopes for when the adversaries are released. I can only guess that this will be a similar mechanic to raids in POGO which was a game changer. I think there are people playing WU that only battle with 1 or 2 of their friends. I would love to battle with full groups more often. I hope the adversaries are enjoyable and take a larger group to battle which would force the solo and small groups to find local discord groups. 🤞🏼

He'll no. I don't like the idea of forcing group play. I am a solo player thanks.
In Pogo I have 157 legendary raids completed. A large component of those are from ex raids. I have 149,000,000xp so you could hardly describe me as a casual player.
Getting together is great and if you have good players that you like in your area. In order to meet anyone playing I'm already forced to travel over 30km each way. Then I have the parking issue as it's always convenient for public transport.
I am a member of a local discord group but they are very inactive, most have quit the game.
My anxiety is normally super high and I'm hyper vigilant due to PTSD. There is no way I can catch public transport solo. I also avoid the city as much as possible as it elevates my stress levels.
It would be wonderful to see groups out playing again. During the first few weeks after the game went live in my city, there would always be several groups playing at the popular spots, and everyone was looking for more players to join them. Now I'm in the same boat with many others out there who've pointed out that most of the people on their friends list stopped playing weeks ago. It would definitely be cool to see new game dynamics implemented to bring the community back to life again, but I also agree with @WerewolfChaser that it shouldn't be done in a way that kills the game for solo players.
Already for as long as the game exists, I am playing it and trying to get people interested to play along and so to add game-friends in the list that way. And: then maybe sometimes gather at a fortress to play together. But convincing others has proven too hard and hence I am a solo player. Secondly, with the corona pandemic break out it isn't wise to gather for this purpose at all.
Therefore, the biggest gameplay improvement for me was the Knights bus. It enabled me to still play together with others in a fortress. The virtual gathering really did the trick! The game first got a bit boring for me, but that change revived it!! (Just as the added SOS trainings later did b.t.w.)
A new boost would of course indeed be welcomed for people who know the game in its current way all too well already.
But... I sincerely hope that this next game experience addition will not completely depend on physical gathering only, nor on necessarily having a huge friends list. That would mean a full no-go for people like me.
